Well we all get this wall of text we can read before the "Go" button gets activated and we can deploy to game. For once I actually read some of it and I very much dissagree with what it says:
What is Dust 514? "Dust 514 brings intence infantry combat, large scale warfare...."
Dust is the least intence shooter I've ever played, and it has been mentioned by many players how Dust "lacks urgency", calling their game intence can not be measured against other shooters, so what do they mean? More intence than Eve? Well I'm sure it is.
And calling anything with 16 vs 16 for "large scale" is an insult to all us MAG vets that currently both run, and dominate Dust.
I suggest they change the wording to "Dust may sometime in the future bring...."
Further down:
"...next generation first person shooter..."
- First they should focus on making it run like the previous generation of shooters, then they can get it up to the level of todays current shooters, then, if they actually come with something that warrants a generation shift, then we can talk about being a "next generation shooter".
And lastly they write under the section: " What kind of gameplay can I expect from Dust 514?"
"Dust 514 offers edge-of-your-seat shooter combat...."
I rest my case. |

When you grow up the real world will be waiting for you.
Maybe by then the workings of the business community won't be such an absolute mystery to you.
As someone that is a part of and know a lot about "the business community" I would never stand for such a missleading marketing of a product. In my country we have very strict marketing rules, any description borderlinig "missleading information about a product" is not allowed. The way I look at it, these examples are very missleading indeed and simpy shouldn't be there.
If I did the same (and by that I mean adding qualities to a product that it doesn't contain) with the various products I sell for construction, I'd be out of business a long time ago. | |

Imagine for me, if you will, that you're in your local video game store. You go over to the shelf and find just the worst, most horrible game you can find, that everyone in their right mind knows completely sucks. Now read the description on the back. Do you think it says 'Hey guys, this game is a giant stinking pile of ****!"? No, of course not, it probably says that it is fun and action packed and innovative.
Every game talks itself up, no reason to fault CCP for doing the same.
Thank you for stating the obvious.
See what I did there? |
