So I'll probably get flamed to hell n' back for this but....
How did it feel to be Templars? For those of you who actually care about the event instead of biomassing, mass suiciding, or just not play.
Was there some interesting feeling you got using Faction Specific Gear, or the thrill of being hunter by all of the community? Was there a brothers in arms vibe amongst the Templars?
Whats the juicy inside story behind the Renegade Templar? (BTW I think you are all scum for betraying the Empress but it doesn't stop me wanting to know) |

I died a lot..., tbh it was fun seeing the lengths some people would go to ti try and kill us. Sadly other than some rubish gear nothing else was diffrent. I was hoping for a lot more ccp involvement but given the events of the weeked I can forgive them being distracted :-P |

I got my three kills, tonight.
Some of the templars were still around at least, and for that my wallet thanks them. = )
Not that 2.5m isk is worth writing home about, but I can buy those dropships I always wanted. Gorgon flies like a blimp, maybe I can get a contract for aerial footage at a sporting event. = D
Either way I've only seen a few, and they were usually on my team. = / |

A friend used the character just to test weapons he's never used before. Even ignored the reward rules because he didn't give a damn. He got some useful in-combat usage of advanced weapons he'd never touch otherwise but not sure why he couldn't do the same with a 500k burn ALT...
Meh, it's his reward nonsense to throw away if he wishes. He joined a corp, fought in FW battles, all kinds of nonsense. |

It was fun. I hope to see lots more events like this. I stuck with using all BPO gear they gave + damage mods. One thing that I noticed, which was expected that you are always getting shot at and people will deffently go out of their way to get you.
Honestly it is not as orginized as I wanted to see. I plan on making a thread about it. Sadly I wont be getting any gear afterwords because do to work and the down times with the servers I did not make the 20k WP. |

I enjoyed playing a Templar during the event. I decided to run lone wolf for most of the event to make sure as many people got to kill me as possible. About 100 managed it and I think I got about 50 odd kills.
I went with a glass cannon build with a couple of basic damage mods, AR proficiency level 3-4, and a gek. Before I got to this build it was kinda tough but k/d definetly evened out at the end.
It was fun seeing the other team realise I was on the field and have them divert towards me. The LAVs and/or HAVs suddenly chasing me around. I managed to avoid all but one OB I think but protobears and their squads were the bane of my life. |

Templar tanking = whole enemy team goes AV = my team wins every ambush....got my 20k wp now I enjoy baiting the other team to rush me like madmen and having squad mates pick them off@ the choke point. All in all it is a enjoyable event when the servers are up & ill continue playing on my templar till its over so we don't see to many QQ threads of people not being able to get 3 kills. Im on american servers running ambush watch out for 224 |

I got my 3 kills within 40 min of the event going live. Was vs a whole squad of them with 2 on my team. I got like 8 or 9 in that one match alone, most of our team only focused on them and the had a LOT of deaths.
Not that it matters, I also made the same 2.5 mil ISK within 2 hours... so the "bounty" isn't much of a reward to be honest. Meanwhile, the few Templars who actually get their 20 battles and 20k SP will get a beast reward. I hear most won't though because of downtimes or breaking rules and weirdness.
Also, some trolly templars cruising around in tanks and derpships had me chuckling when I'd see whole teams go seeking them out and usually lose their match. |

Apart from not being selected to be a Templar (and that's just my luck) my only gripe was that there was no real value in hunting Templars.
I mean I do it for my own sadistic pleasure....I mean I do it for the Empress.
But most other players probably wouldn't care much for 2.5 million ISK as a reward since it takes about 10 games to achieve that anyway and the odds of seeing one of the small number of "Good" Templars actually playing the game was pretty low. |

I had a lot of fun during the event. Got to squad up with some pretty cool people. It got to the point where we kept getting put against this same guy in a Python who kept tracking and hunting us. So we would try to lead him into a trap where one or two of us were waiting with a forge gun to blast him out of the sky.
I think we got him once or twice. It was fun when he'd follow us around the corner and come to bear against our forge gunners, other times he wouldn't take the bait and we'd all erupt in cussing and fussing before setting up someplace else to hit him. I'd happily do it again if I could squad with such awesome players like that!

see this is what I don't understand about all the bitching, doesn't matter if they had been given full proto, might have even made it worse for them(pro gear with 8+guys hunting you nonstop = -isk) but with that knowledge that they would be hunted they could of squaded up and gotten their teams nonstop wins and fucktons of easy kills.
but instead when their dreams of being unstoppable badasses gets crushed they end up crying like little girls and quit playing characters that plenty of other people would have been more then happy to have. |

As a Templar, everyone is out to get you. EVERYONE. People would often charge at me recklessly in hopes of collecting the bounty. Having said that, it was funny as hell to kill them first or to "accidently" kill myself via overheating my weapon before they could score the kill.
GG to all who collected the bounty on me. As a bonus, you now have a trophy in your room. Can't see it says you? Don't worry, its there. I pissed the number 514 on your couch, bed, TV or tooth brush. You'll never smell it because your helmet filters out the air and you never EVER remove your helmet. When you look at you're trophy, remember with pride that you downed a Templar and did New Eden a great service. Oh, and the nice bounty you collected on me too. But you didn't do it just for the money right?
BPOs were standard tier stuff, but I'll still buy them once their released in the in game store. Not going to drop 150 euro for BPOs and stuff I don't care about, too expensive.
You should reserve you're opinion about the Templars until you actually read up on who they are. |

I was a templar and played my best, had a 2.53 kd. The rifle could of been better with only shooting it six times then it would do damage feedback so i used the templar pistol and was owning people with it..but the funniest thing was Planetary Response made a channel called Templar Event and invited every templar in it.They had the nerve to ask us to help them track us down and kill us for they can bring isk back to their lame corp that is dying thanks to ContraBanJoe.He was in there to leading the charge we all just left him beside the templar's that were in his corp helping them boost isk..over all it was fun. |

I enjoyed being a templar. Offcourse alott of people go out of there way to kill you. Snipers constantly trying to kill you or hole squads. Even had the orbital drop on me. LAV and tanks chasing me. There was this one guy in a scout suit and we start exchanging fire a bit and he starts running away from me, offcourse he was faster and proberly thought he was going to lose. So i then think to my self a well this one got away. But then i think he remembered the event, he turned around from further down the map and starts chasing me. Got me in the end with a grenade aswell. Lots of fun, i enjoyed that moment.
I got killed about 300 times, did take out a few hundred of my own. I got my 20000 wp eventually and i managed with the suits and weapons, but it could have been a bit more isk and sp. As for the suicides, had severall of those, but they where more from beeing in the heat of the battle and trying to throw a farewell grenade, which offcourse lands right in front of me.
I look forward to further events and well done to those that killed me. |

True Adamance, I love how you really get into the story and role playing side of things. I get that many people just got give a **** and just want to shoot people in the face, but it really is a lot of fun when you play along with everything being offered.
I would much look forward to fighting along side you some day for the glory of the Empire!
Oh and yeah I didn't get to be a Templar but the event was a lot of fun, realizing one was on the enemy team and going all out to get the kill (and fighting among team mates to who actually gets the final shot) was glorious! Hopefully this was some sort of test for a future bounty system in Dust. And to anyone who got to be a Templar but didn't care to use it as intended, shame on you |

Thanks.
I'd rather fight for an ideal than money, this is what I do. Tend to gravitate to the more thematic side of things.
I'm more often than not doing Amarr FW matches so I guess I'll run into you some time mid match.

Overall I had fun playing as a Templar. I went Laser Rifle with Flaylock, and skilled advanced swarms for clown cars and tanks. Starting with no ISK was a challenge, but it got better after the first several matches. I got squad rushed several times, and my Flaylock put the hurt on quite a few of these dudes. A couple times I topped the leaderboard for a given match which was pretty cool, but it was rare. Snipers were out in force, so I played several matches as a sniper-hunter. That is, I roamed the outskirts and snuck up behind them for a Flaylock surprise. This was quite gratifying. As always, you got a much enjoyment out of it as you put in. Got to do a few role played squads which was fun. Hope to see more of these events in the future.
Lastly, I saw a couple of Templar brothers sporting TACs. Boo!

You will never see them in the game store. They are from the Eve collectors edition.
I played a lot matches as a Templar before they took them away and overall it was fun. I died a lot but seeing people chase me around and ignore objectives made up for it.

I had a ton of fun. Some of those instances when normally the guy would run back to re-amour up, until they see the templar name and decide to go for it, were my favorite moments.
The amount of orbitals people would use just on a single person was hilarious
