Although I have hope for the future of Dust, let's be honest. This game is broken in so many areas it's almost incomprehensible. My suggestion? Vote with your wallet. I know there's a lot of people that don't pay for this game, but there are also a lot that do. You want CCP to know that you're fed up with the current state of the game? Stop buying those merc packs, stop buying those boosters, stop buying that AUR gear.
I for one have spent $70 so far, and was looking to purchase the veteran pack, throwing another $50 toward "the cause" but then common sense set in. At first I felt like I was supporting the game, like I was helping toward the future, the potential. Now, however, I feel as if I've just been trolled out of my money. The one step foward and twenty steps back from Uprising is simply unacceptable. We need to send a message and stop supporting something we believe to be broken.
I believe the only way we're only going to get true, timely progress on this game, is if CCP sees a drastic decline in sales and player base. When people stop playing, when people stop paying, that will hopefully be the moment CCP realizes they can't continue with this subpar fiasco they're trying to pass as a functional game. Perhaps then they will get out of their swimming pool filled with gold coins and dedicate some of that money to more developers.

A better vote to cast would be with not playing.
I waited a whole year to play Skyrim with all the DLC's and now i'm playing it in all its true glory. |

It strikes me as odd how many people are trying to "punish" CCP in some way. How the heck does this thinking work? It doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. |

You can be fed up all you want, it won't make fixing the game happen any faster. Nor will a decline in "sales", for lack of a better term. Constructive feedback and time fixes the problem this game has. |

Overhead from EVE online subscribers is more than enough to fund Dust 514 since they for the most part hired internally. This is without even factoring RMT and monetary purchases. If you really want to show your discontent, don't just close your wallet, close that game client. The success of this game is measured by how many subscribers log into Tranquility. Let those projected numbers drop and see how fast they'll want to focus on priorities in the present over tress and flowers in the future.

I said nothing to defend the game or CCP in any capacity. Maybe you should give your head a shake.
I simply don't understand how folks around here are so childish as to believe the business world is run by people who hold their breath until they get what they want.
That is butthurt on many levels.
No fanboi membership required to see that.

Brilliant words. Now I dont want to pay CCP anymore.
Sorry, CCP, but you don't know how to make FPS and MMOFPS. And I dont want to waste my money for your chinese workers who create the worst shooter I have ever seen. I'd rather spend money on Kickstarters projects, open source FPS, or another MMOFPS (from PC). |

Eve has the meme "can I has your stuff" for a reason. This is the cutoff right here. There is no communication. Uprising was all about fixing things that weren't broken, breaking them more and ignoring player feedback. We're still plagued with the exact same problems in closed beta: weapon balance, bugs, and clunky FPS mechanics. All of the above should have been resolved in beta, but we're still having the exact same issues while they seem more concerned with adding decorations to a house, when the foundation is in disrepair. If you want further proof that our feedback doesn't matter, they're going to bring fused locus grenades back for isk after all the outrage we had in closed beta. |

Ah yes but when constructive feedback is given and then CCP spits in our face by not listening and then puts their hand out and asks us to buy into their garbage product, what concept should be taken? |

Not a drone... a clone.
CCP may or may not eventually end up making some serious mistakes. They've made mistakes before. They'll make mistakes in the future. At any point I may decide I need to take a break from game frustrations due to changes being made.
The part where I whine like a puss, tell CCP that I am smarter than them, and threaten to no longer spend money like my personal expenditures are measurable to them won't happen.
No amount of childish butthurt QQing threads is going to fix anything.
FFS, I work in a company and have serious experience and capability in my skill set -- that does't mean I get to set the direction of the company. What in the hell can butthurt basement dwelling socially inept nerds rageposting like a mofo actually accomplish?
Nothing. It's pitiful. People who's corporations I won't be joining (yes, I know, who am I and why would anybody want me in their corp, right). |

Yeah i disagree. yes this is a broken failed game, still Skyrim was a broken game (though obviously the sales numbers show it is not a failure) but despite its broken nature it was fun to play. I don't think Dust offers as much fun as Skyrim but still i have played and i have had fun despite the fact that is broken.
I think the problem here is the views of what is broken. I think as an MMO it is broken so you have MMO players who are "investing" in future MMO status feeling hurt.
In terms of playing in the now for the fun now Dust is also broken but still it is not impossible to pull some joy out of the game in the now. So paying a little for that bit of NOW is understandable.
Note: investing in an MMO for MMO status never makes any sense to me even when the game is not broken....so i may be biased on this one. |
