So I've been playing this game for about a week and a half now and I'd like to offer a review. I know I know most of you don't care, but this is more for the new people who are fed up with the game, or on the verge of quitting, and also for the off chance that CCP reads this post, as I think they could use some wisdom.
uhGǪ.like this game is hard n stuff. I can see how this game can be complicated with the power grid and modules and different fittings and choices. Do I armor or shield tank/. Uh, wtf is shield tanking? If I hadn't been a veteran eve player I would have no idea what the differing choices mean. CCP needs to do a better job of explaining things to the new player. The tutorial is okay but needs to be deeply expanded to include the intricacies of the eve universe.
lolkbye! Why should experienced players should care about people being frustrated with the game instead of being smart azzs and rude. First off, try to have some empathy with people. You figured stuff out, most likely with the help and advice of other people. You should not be rude to people because they haven't figured it out, help them. In the long run it will work out for you because without new players deciding to stay, the game will obviously suffer in the long run, Plus, I really like CCP and the people who work there (I've met them in Iceland at fan fest) and want a good company to succeed, They are a good company. Good companies should be rewarded or what we'll be stuck with is **** companies like EA who really don't give aGǪ
Lets be honest, the graphics in this game are sub par. CCP, I expect more from you. No more to say about that.
The sound design is second to none. Very well cone for the setting.
Tanks should tank! There is no reason why my tank should be able to be one shotted by an infantry unit. For the price of a tank, I expect more. I don't want to be invincible but there should be a happy medium. Yeah I know I have only been playing for a week and a half so I don't have a lot of sp, but a tank is still a tankGǪ
If you call a tank and get killed before the dropship even drops the tank off, then your tank should not be dropped off to just get stolen. In real life, a pilot wouldn't still drop off equipment if the soldiers they are doing the drop for are KIA.
SOmetimes when I am trying to revive people, I can't even get the option to heal them. I will run around them a few times and the circle button never appears, this needs to be looked at.
I Understand that this is a F2P game, but come on CCP, you take this too far. Its almost like its pay to win. I would have happily paid $60 for this game without the obvious money grab. Its like "oh I cant use that super good shield booster for my tank yet because of my low SP....but if I pay real money I can be l337..." . I want to support the game, but come on, this is bordering on ridiculous.
There is probably a lot more issues, but as I've only been playing for a week and a few days, these are my gripes. Ive gone from hating the game at first, to really liking it.

Don't touch the aurum gear, if you have aurum get as many boosters as you can. And we went through a major update recently which among other things, greatly improved the graphics, broke nano injectors, and helped mess up the vehicle/AV balance. |

As above if you want to spend real money then buy SP boosters. I think the basic merc pack is still the best deal on the market.
As for the rest I think most people, but not all, would agree that with the new expansion Uprising some things were fixed, a bunch were broken and their were lots of nerfs and the odd buff.
I think CCP will fix most of the issues over the next couple/few months. Just not as fast as we would all prefer but then this is real life. |

Ive bought the passive SP booster but until I have a few days to just veg out and play numerous games, I'll hold off on the other SP booster.
I will def look into the merc pack, thank for the advice.
One more thing I'd like to add to my review is, I can appreciate the technological hurdles CCP had to get through to merge the game universes. Great job again CCP. This game has lots of potential. |
