I think equipment based personal turrets would fit in well they don't have to do much damage at first have like a 30 degree radical and 45 foot rang base. As an assault i dont get to carry much in equptment and a chance to level up too would be awesome. Please let me know something |

CCP has expressed very understandable reticence to implement any sort of player controlled drones. Turrets, which are essentially just immobile drones, would probably be included in this category.
I hope they find a way to do them fairly some time in the future, as they're a major defining characteristic of the Gallente in EVE, but I don't think we're going to see them any time in the next few years. |

This can be done right. Base fires like ar but 10 damage, some fire like a breach hit for 25 damage. Each level does 2 % more damage have a 30 degree sweep and a 45 to 50 foot range have scan ability so you can put one down when hacking so at the very least you know someone is there, and if you're lucky your turret kills him. There are time when I am the only one getting to the hack just to die at the last bar at the hack. Most equipment is made for logi. I believe it is believable that there would be unmanned turrets in eve. Please let me know what you think. DJINN Morbid |

What about an lav that... Is a transformer?
Hop in and activate siege mode to turn it into a stationary small turret with a blast shield, providing you the protection of the vehicle's shield / armor (except from the back maybe).
Could be a bike that turns into a platform turret (turret unusable in vehicle mode).
We want transforming vehicles! |

I think such small turrets will come in the future. Way back in the closed beta, there were two different turret installation types: small and large. The small turrets were the small turrets you see today on vehicles but on small pads where the player was almost fully exposed during operation.
The large turrets had their own different platform from today. It was almost like a tiny outpost you could walk onto. Operators were more exposed though compared to the current turret base that offers 90 degree protection.
That installations feature that you currently see will see use! |

Deployable Auto-turret -equipment slot -AI controlled only, no human control - once its deployed its deployed, just like hives and uplinks -should pump out AR equivilant damage, enough to discourage an attack, but not completely prevent one -mid range, small arc of fire, limited elevation/depression -possible variants (ie. blaster, autocannon, pulse laser, missile) different variants have different ranges/damage types
Example-
Blaster turret (Gallente)
RoF - 750 rpm Damage - 40? (im compensating for the inability to apply damage mods and a lack of a profiency skill) Range - 30 meters Arc/elevation of fire - 45 Degrees Shield/Armor - 150/200 Shield regen - 15hp/sec Scan res - 50 Scan Profile - 55
again, this is only an idea for a blaster variant, other types would have slightly different stats to acomidate racial variations. |

again, this is only an idea for a blaster variant, other types would have slightly different stats to acomidate racial variations. Like I said it can be done. Just use the art model that ccp already has for the blaster use nano hive base. And put some stats. Make to which way you're facing when thrown is way it should fire. Like uplinks if put on slant it dissappears. Thanks |

OK honestly, this is a good idea BUT it must be manned and take time to set up. Thoughts/questions What if it can only be carried by heavies - but manned by anyone? What if its a new heavy weapon that has to be set up before operation? How is this different than just a regular weapon? Presumably its more powerful but not mobile... Isn't that kind of like a heavy?
Autoturrets would also be cool BUT only if they suck at damage - they should be used to harass, provide suppressive fire, finish off almost dead enemies or contribute a very small amount of DPS. Toss them in the open to limit enemy routes (they won't kill, but even 30 DMG is worth avoiding), toss them to cover your retreat to buy shield recharge time etc.

I like this idea. A small drone with limited range and limited dps. Something that isn't really useful for getting kills, but for causing a bee sting while in the area to prevent complacency.
As a side note, I'd really like to see deployable sensors as well. basically a turret that doesn't fire, but puts anything it "sees" on TACNET.
