Only bought a 7 day passive SP booster so far.
I will support them with good money if the game gets better in the summer. |

I bought my girlfriend a Merc Pack while the game was in closed beta, after letting her have a quick run on my alt and realising that she enjoyed the game.
Definitely worth it. |

Don't remember the exact sum, but two Chromosome-era merc packs.
Yeah, it was worth it. Boosters that sped up SP-advancement, BPOs for free/cheap fits. I've spent more money on other classic retail games with stupid DLC and gotten less mileage (to be clear: game time and enjoyment) out of them. |

40k aurum before the merc pack came out.
Another 5k aurum to make most of the 3X sp event and 7day booster sale.
So about -ú35 total which is reasonable and I feel ive paid for the game.
Dust514 isn't worth a subscription and its not worth spending any more than the base equivalent of buying a ps3 game (about -ú25--ú40). Spending any more than that and your stupid.
I have 11 million SP and 96 million isk. Specialised in forge and having fun in the game and getting decent kill rates. I see no reason to spend more money on the game. |

I've bought a few merc packs (2 at half price).
I'm VERY O.C.D and love maxing stuff. In RPG games I love amassing as much EXP as quick as possible then looking at my lovely skills with big eyes like a puppy.
GG CCP...It all comes down to dopamine...mix that with an expansive leveling system and you have a potent cocktail of money making potential.
I almost had a dopamine OD during the recent respec...my proto logi is bootyful and perfect...I have the next 9 weeks of skill training planned too...fueled by boosters!  |

I've put 150$ in gift cards I got over b-day/christmas (I gave a list of a couple stores for giftcards, everyone went PSN by random). I actually got ~20$ extra because I spent it while PSN was doing that deal where you got 10$ back for every 50. After that I've spent ~120$ or so of straight items? I also got the collector's edition but I didn't get it for the dust or eve items.
Keep in mind I make a good salary and those boosters were kind of made for people like me. I love to play, I play whenever I can. However every day I'm out of the house from 7am to 6pm for work+commute. Afterwards I have a dog to take care of, chores to do, and a girlfriend to spend my life with. Its' summer and while I hate going outside, she needs outdoor activities.
I've capped twice since weekly SP started. I've played since before reset, and I'm about to hit 10mil SP! Hurray! But those boosters are important for helping me out. If I had no other responsibilities I'd play a couple hours a day after work every day. As it is I get between a half hour and 3 hours (probably averages to about an hour that I try hard to get) to play. Weekends are more open but life generally needs lived (against personal protests).
That all being said I'm a "gaming enthusiast" (that magazine should exist). And I find myself looking to reward those who innovate or at least excusing my spending more. If you make an android game that isn't a rehash and tries something new and interesting, I will send 3x your way than I would another game.
I know many might sneer because its "just a shooter", but I know what they've done for EvE. People might get angry at this game for "not living up to hype" but the second mouse gets the cheese. Innovation doesn't guarantee success. Good innovation guarantees a path to be laid for your innovation to be perfected. Often another comes along and perfects what you started. CCP's strategy seems to be focused around slow and careful path laying to enable following their own path. Laying their own tracks down, so to speak. I have the money and I'll put it up to help lay down the tracks leading in directions I like.
In the end too I'm not currently logging in for dust. I spent the weekend while things were down playing Borderlands 2 with the little lady, had a great time. Decided to start leveling Salvadore. I enjoy shooting pixels instead of people sometimes. It's nice to just smash face like a god on occasion, for which I hope PvE comes out this year. That all being said I'm going to keep coming back because of various reasons and mostly I enjoy the corp I'm in. It's pleasant. The game gives context and purpose to the group. Our background helps centralize the player base in common mindset that fosters a familiar environment.
In the end the only thing I wish was different, the only thing that irritates me or bugs me really consistently. Not the Tac, not the lack of Gallante Heavy which I'm eager for, not the PC or FW retuning that we all know will occur. I just want the Dren and Templar pistol to have 11cpu/2pg fitting like a normal pistol. Everything else is time. Yesterday I joined my corp and started my current job. Well yesterday being 6 months ago. I can wait for something that I know would take me longer in the same position. Just want the pistol. 11cpu/2pg.
edit: Oh and I give no guff to anyone who has spent less or doesn't want to spend a dollar. i think at some point you should put a couple bucks in if you have the money for the reasons I stated above. But there are people without 5$ in their bank account, or even just people in lots of debt who have to be frugal or etc etc. |

Maybe around $400 but I don't buy games for my PS3 so it's EVE and Dust for me. Gaming is my hobby is what I do to relax I have stressful job as a coder in the pharmacy industry. I will spend even more money on Dust just to see the tears on the forum LOL. |

Also...BRING ON THE OMEGA ACTIVES & PASSIVES! That OPB was totally a tracer bullet to judge interest. :D (it had 30, 60 and 90 day variants in the info)...
Can you imagine the QQing? 336K per week passive and 380K active for the Omega inclined. |

To me? Yea it was worth it. I still have 64k Aurum stocked up, got my omega passive booster, and the veteran caldari red suits are sexy and defensive enough for me to function without spending a ton of isk to restock it all. If I'm ever low, I can run around with an advanced shotgun and some basic shield + armor boosters. Within a few matches I have money again.
Plus not to sound like a kissup, but spending that money helps the development team to make a better and more improved game.
I spend money on games that I like because I consider them my hobby of choice. That's how I can justify it, since I'm not paying entry fees on a golf course or a membership for a club or something.
O.O still couldn't make myself justify spending 100$ on the Elite pack or getting that 150 British Pound collector thing (in fact,,, don't do that... take it from a templar... those suits are not good... sexy but not good)
(I'm also an Eve player and pay that subscription fee every 3 months so throw that in there, also still worth it) |

I agree with the guy who said only to buy 1-week active boosters. Buy one saturday night and you have until wednesday to cap out. Then you have until saturday to cap out the following week. Skip a week with the booster then buy another the next saturday for another 2 capped weeks for the price of one. :D |

My part: I bought two Merc Packs when they were $10 a piece, one more at full price with a gift card.
That means CCP got $40 from me one way or another. I'll buy another if CCP introduces the rest of the Heavy Suits any time soon.  |
