if i recall, templars only get basic standard gear, and weapons. and only 500,000 sp. 0isk. that makes no sense.
i mean you'd think that the original clones that went renegade to earn cash, would have tons of cash, weapons, and SP as they were the first.
they should have chosen more templars, and made them harder to kill. given them proto gear, and proto weapons (expect proto ARs)
basically they should have had access to all proto weapons (except proto ARs because we have just seen enough of them). there should have been at least 1,000 chosen. there are 1000s of players on dust you need a decent number.
the final point is that yes they would be OP, but that is the point to the 2.5 million isk reward, and have entire teams come after you. finally, they dnt keep the accounts, and the event is only a few days.
(again I know this sounds really OP a dude with blue print proto armor, dropsuits, mods, weapons [except the ARs], and 10 million spare SP to be speced into whatever they want [except ARs] IS OP. but when your the only templar on a team, and the entire enemy team is coming after just you, and they are all running proto gear [which has happened], you need to be able to fight back.
plus it tells that story well, because they were the original clones you'd think they'd be very skilled therefore havng tons of sp) |

Would have been much better to host multiple 300 Templar events for each region.
that would be cool. |

Akurabis wrote:2.5 million isk isn't even enough to make me think about them. \what kind of a reward is that? and ya - why couldn't we all have the option to sign in to a 3 day character to try out some cool sets of gear in contained academy style matches?
naw you guys selected are already good - decent players. they should have just given you the proto amar gear, with all proto equipment, blueprint, with 10 mil SP to spec where ever you want (expect ARs because those are already everywhere and would make templars impossible to kill)
the templars also, should have got a default resistance to damage by 33% and base shields/armor. i.e. t. scout = 300sh/300ar t. assault = 400sh/400ar t. heavy = 700sh/700ar
yes. this sounds OP, but thats the challenge, everyone is on your team are going after them, and its supposed to last only 3 days. i mean i wasnt a templar but the descritption is pretty pathetic, if i had to take on an entire team by myself and i was the target of everyone, i need the additional power to stand a chance.
(and trust me an enemy team of proto tacs, and glus, firing into anything can destroy it. this isnt OP. its fair to the templars.) |

The TACS still take out my 1200 HP Sentinel before I can say "kitten me" So your complaint is that your "carry me" 10 million SP/gear build is less OP then you want it do be.... Cry a river scrub. LoL I was being playful about it not crying. I have actually enjoyed the event so far. Sounds like someone has a sore bum.. Let me guess you are one of those SKILLED L33T TAC users. Sorry I made ya cry sweety. /hug I don't even understand what you wrote. My main has nowhere near 10 million SP and my Sentinel Templar has 1200 hp from shield and the sp i spent on armor plates and core skills. The Templar toons got 2 million sp to play with not 10 million. If they would have gave more people would complained they were OP. If they gave less people would complained they were to weak and the event was a fail. It appears the majority of the populace here are children. Shouldn't you check and make sure your mommy washed some clean clothes for ya tomorrow? LoL @ CHU
there should have been more of you guys, and they should have given you more SP, and more stuff. templars should have had at least 10 mil SP. its a short event, that tells a story and its a manhunt. everyone just ganged up on the templars, and alot of templars were complaining. they were even committing suicide! and in public areas no less! the audacity! |

No way would this work, the babies on the forums would QQ even more.
Even though these same children are currently crying saying the templars should have been buffed more.
I know it doesnt make sense.
Babies are good at one thing.

i agree 100% with you.
and thats where Im lost. the templars are the original clones, they were defective because they went renegade, not because they sucked. i am not a templar i wasnt chosen, but even i see they need a power boost. the whole point of the event was to have super powered enemies run around the place as teams and squads and corps tried to hunt them down.
i mean really, with all these dudes running all kinds of tacs, and charge snipers there is no way this is OP. in fact this dnt even tell the story right, because they are supposed to be super skilled (both in combat and in SP) and be rich.
2 million SP is a joke just getting to lvl 3 drop suits burns 25% of that. the multiplier for skills and even the skill cap is the same too. its not the challenge i expected. the templars are good players but what can you do verse a team of protos out just for you? they need the advantage to "BALANCE" the event.
all these punks scream like they just came out the womb about how templars arent playing the game, but at the same time they dnt want them to get buffed so they can play? who wants to play 20,000wp worth of matches dying over and over and over and over and over again?
these templars are supposed to be like minibosses. not so over powered that 1v1 the non-templar can never win, but not so horribly under powered that 1 guy in proto gear can wipeout 6 templars.
the maps arent even that big, if templars were to be a literal manhunt they couldnt even hide on these maps. so, if these new borns want a kill on a templar, well your just gonna have to blow up the MCC

Templar Renegade67 wrote:Templars started with Zero ISK. Not the 500k you mentioned.
After about 5-10 games I was able to buy All the Skill Books I needed to use my 2 million SP.
What this Templar event really showed me is that even at 2 million Total SP, a player can still be competitive and ISK gains per match vs my ISK death cost are growing for me. Meaning I Profit ISK wise after each match.
I used to think it would take around 4-5 million Total SP after the May 14 launch because of all the new pre-reqs but that is not the case anymore.
if your a heavy you need at least 4million sp to play competatively |

idk if i would have thrown 10m SP at them, to get a full loadout on a proto suit, at least my logistics suits, i only need 8m. but thats only 1 proto mod, 1 proto equip, and some adv mods to fill out the rest of my slots without over extending PG/CPU. but at the same time, enough skills to do a full proto loadout so they wouldnt just be completely gimped would have been the nice thing to do. but that is assuming the challenge was meant to be in getting the kills rather than simply finding a templar to gank. though from the RP perspective, first gen clones should have SP to reflect practical combat experience beyond the average player... should have been strong enough to hold their own against the Empire and the hunters they are being pursued by... BUT CCP didnt want to 'give' people OP characters for an event... that are to be deleted at the end of the event...
^^this.
its not too late they should keep the same templars and give them the 10mil SP (to make them slightly better), the additional resistance and shielding, and basically make them OP because they are deleted at the end of the event and it is a manhunt. everyone is after them in addition i agree 100% "from the RP perspective, first gen clones should have SP to reflect practical combat experience beyond the average player... should have been strong enough to hold their own against the Empire and the hunters they are being pursued by... (so) CCP (should) 'give' people OP characters for an event... that are to be deleted at the end of the event.." i know i change 2 words, but the point is the same
