The people who make this game need to stop listening to the people that just started that have no clue how to play the game and just come here and start begging for them to change it for them. All requests and complaints should be ignored unless your A. in a real corp NOT Commando Perokon and B. at least have a few mill skill points under your belt unless you meet these reqs you dont know whats up and should not get an entire game changed just to fit you |

You're implying that the devs even listen to us. If you missed the memo, Uprising = **** player feedback. They only started listening again when we stopped logging in. |

I agree with the premise that you cannot listen to complete knee jerk reaction threads but the plight of the newberry is a serious one.
When they complain about pub stomps we HAVE to pay attention, new players are too important. |

Developers only ever listen to the ones who make the most noise and often, the least sense.
CCP and Zipper are both guilty of listening to the people complaining without valid points; that what kills a game :(

When they complain about pub stomps we HAVE to pay attention, new players are too important. Anything regarding the needs of new players will always be relevant. If not, we need to readdress our priorities of keeping players than padding our KDR. |

We definitely need some type of well designed transition path.
The current academy doesn't really cut it.
They should be able to learn to play the game without much "stepping on their ****" by running across the complexities of the larger DUST universe. For example, putting SP into something useless to the new player is a potentially terminal move.
Some type of "graduation" from academy where a respec (automated, on the spot) is available for a couple of weeks might not be out of line. You could also give everyone a single skill reset (automated, on the spot) once in a while -- not sure of what criteria to suggest for earning it -- maybe non-passive SP earned combined with minimum time limit since last used.
However, I am not sure I agree that the "later game" should be changed around just because new players are having trouble with it. Maybe the new players shouldn't be in the "later game" until "later" anyway. |

We need a hands on tutorial instance as soon as a new player starts the client. Something similar to Oblivion where you go though a track, trying out different pieces of equipment to get a good feel for what the game has to offer. Then they can go to the Academy with a higher WP cap of ~100,000 WP with the option to enter public matches and once they graduate, they can have their first and last SP respec. |

All nerf/boost request have the same thing in common, There all self serving, there about getting your play style an advantage. And it's an endless cycle that im tired of seeing. Constant changes because the other person has a bigger piece of cake is anoying. The circle go's around and around and will probably never end. Let's face it we all whan't to play with an advantage over the other person. And that is why CCP should use a paid outside party (with no ties and a no play binding) to help ballance the game. Never the player base for balancing. |

Never the player base for balancing. I don't even think they play their own game. Have you seen the iron sights on the lasers? I hated the damn things as much as the next guy during Chrome, but they got robbed. You can't even see where you're shooting half the time and that lens flare will kill your eyes, or your TV, whichever comes first. |

Forum whiners have been contributing to this game being ruined one patch at a time ever since scout speed and heavy armor got nerfed way back in closed beta.
Its how ccp operates. The same thing has been going on in eve for years, it just took them far longer to swing the nerf bat in response there. |

I see this as another example of taking the easy way out when trying to "balance" something. Even if the weapon wasn't weakened too much making it hard to use is not the way to go.
We have advanced tech, we should not be suffering visibility damaging glare as our suits should be able to counter for this.
My own beef is with the sniper rifle sway. Look, you can kill quick scoping by having a warm up period during which dispersion reduces to normal accuracy.
Every time CCP takes the easy shortcut instead of a well thought out way to "balance" an item they reduce the fun that we get from using that weapon.
It's a game. Put the work in to find ways to fix things that don't make them game less fun. |

Admittedly I'm coming from an ex-EVE background and playing lots of varied FPS but learning the details of the game is a fairly middling problem. Its not too hard to read the skill descriptions and fiddle with your fittings. The game announcer tells you that you need to capture the null cannons, it isn't rocket surgery.
Wildly varying SP levels and proto vs militia are also a middling problem but not the main one.
The main thing that causes newbies to quit is the lack of any matchmaking to separate 16 pugs from a full team of voice commed pros who have been squadding together for 6 months. Each of those types of people have their place in the game but it sure ain't in the same match. I was in an instant skirmish match the other day with a full team of 12 Grupo guys and half my team of pubbies afk. Even if I was in full proto with 10mil SP I'd still get torn apart.
The newbies will eventually learn to squad and join corps but they desperately need a graduated pathway via levels of matchmaking to get to that point. |

it is nice to help new players hence the battle academy but when the entire game gets broke due to people complaining it gets the vets to quit and although the have gotten our money they need to not break a working thing cause some new players dont want to put the time and effort into learning the game this is why they add things like flaylocks and murder taxis |

Is like the Wild West ...Everyone shooting at the air.. killing each other for a gold coin...Stealing each others horses..Hanging people in trees....And CCP is trying to be the nice Sheriff that listens to everyone.. guess what CCP.. isn't working. |

Its how ccp operates. The same thing has been going on in eve for years, it just took them far longer to swing the nerf bat in response there. Gotta agree here the scout and heavy have, and continue, to take a beating and there's no reason for it but to cater to the idiotic players who don't understand that they can't be the best at everything.
a lot of changes have been made to shorten the gap between new players and vets as well because they were:whining about prototype gear being to strong.
Now I can kill a fully fit proto in a standard suit with an exile it's nothing short of pathetic, how low they've fallen from when I first began.
This is quickly becoming a twitch based cod clone, not the tactical shooter we craved and flocked to the beta for,and I'm sad we've fallen this far.
That being said despite this I hope ccp will start to listen to their real community and bring forth the amazing game I know this can become.
I still hope for this game , I still hold faith in ccp and I hope that we can create an amazing MMOFPSRPG together and not another fail cod clone. |

- Scouts are rubbish right now.. agreed. But is nothing wrong with the heavies, I use an Advanced heavy suit myself, and i'm a killing machine with it.
- Prototype Gear was a STUPID idea to start with... that should never existed in a FPS game.
- Dust 514 is becoming a First Person Shooter clone... stop with the CoD BS.. that is one of the reason why we are in this mess. |
