Just whipped Nova Knives out for a whirl for the first time this built and went 17/5. Top killer on my team. wut?

Caveats: It was a new character, so I was fighting noobs in pubmatches. I suspect a good chunk of my opponents were pros slumming the same way I was, however.

But even if I were to go sub 1.0 Kill/Deaths, MAN NOVA SCOUT IS FUN. The lil' knife flip animation before you start sprinting did it for me every single time. I haven't even bothered to use those 100 bonus knife modules we got, either.

Otherwise useless against anyone with functioning thumbs. I actually maxed it out and find the Flaylock to be a far more effective weapon for most situations and when I maxed it out instead of the Knives.

He got us a couple more times during that battle until we were fearfully in a tightly packed formation, back to back.... and he still got us two more times!

As soon as I had someone's full attention, I was mince meat. But if I flanked an engaged squad, it was more like: "Bah red on the right! oh its nova knives lolwut? Keep shooting at the logi... ARGHHH urk!" As a main heavy player, I suffered severe cognitive dissonance when I bunny hopped over an HMG Heavy's head, knifed him in the back, charged up the novas, then hopped over his head again as he turned and finished him off. It was both satisfying and depressing.

Unless its a Proto Minmatar with L5 shields up its butt, they are like thin glass.

In my experience, they kill me before my melee animation activates, that or it completely misses thanks to how melee damage is applied, usually i spray bullets in a hopeful attempt that it'll either A. Make them go away, B. Kill them with a few hip fired shots that actually land.

I basically built sniper and then a few days ago i tried them out. before I tried them, i was under the impression they were throwing knives, then I said wth and tried them and never looked back. Applied for Respec and now waiting so I can go all out Nova knives. Have done extensive math and research and cant wait. But they are not op. 3 shots from an assault rifle, and boy does everyone have assault rifles. the duvolle tactical one mainly. 3 freakin hits, sometimes 2 if their upgraded, as an assault rifle. Safe to say I want to call OP but ill just abide. And while Nova knives are great fun, they need some buffage or something, the playstyle does. A shotgun does just as much damage, from farther away, its quicker and easier, and its only downfall is it makes some noise.
