There already is a balance. Your fast, hes slow. Pull out your SMG or Nova Knives and proceed to dance around him. I always do this against a heavy when I see an opportunity to do so, but if he snuck up on you that is fair game. It's amusing to have a heavy spraying his HMG load around the place trying to hit me. |

I disagree with your argument.
Zethnos wrote:So before the heavy police try to lock me up. Think about what i am going to say.
I have seen this 1st hand. A full prototype sniper is on a mountain or high building. All the sudden a heavy walks up or lands an unheard/seen drop ship next to you. The heavy is in basic gear. The sniper takes away maybe half his shield with the one shot he can take before he gets completely blown away.
The underlined spots are the highlights of why your argument doesn't match your example.
In your example, a sniper (long range) who I'm assuming is a light frame (thus the title) got beat in close range by a very heavily armored, very fast killing weapon in CQC.
That makes all the sense in the world; that a sniper can't compete in CQC.
Now, you might throw another example out there, but as a Light Frame user, I know my advantages and disadvantages, and I play like so. I've killed my fair share of heavies (props to the mass driver) using my weapon, mobility, and relative stealth.
Basically our strengths are the weaknesses of a heavy, and the our weaknesses are the strength of a heavy. If that doesn't make sense I'm not sure how else to put it, but basically, light frames and heavy frames are just two different sides to the same coin and are fairly balanced at the moment (wish I could say the same for the Medium frames).
Use the heavy's disadvantages to win, not their strengths. Because our strength is their weakness, when we use that properly, we win. |

:D thanks for the laugh! which part? The part where he used a light frame for sniping or the part where Heavies are OP? |

Besides I never said nurf heavy. I said develope some way to be able to have a highting chance. Example. Tone down the weapon damage so you are not dead in 3 hits. I am no longer reading any comments that are not from Devs. thank you. silly peoples 1. scout suits with snipers are SUPPOSED to get beat at close range. This is not CoD. There is no quickscoping 2. You did not get killed in 3 hits. HMGs do around 15 damage per shot (correct me if I'm wrong), and most militia scout suits have around 100 shield and 100 armor (again not accurate). So, it was definitely not 3 shots. |

The sniper takes away maybe half his shield with the one shot he can take before he gets completely blown away. This to me feels really off. I think that every type should have a fighting chance against each other. I am not saying make every class 100% the same. I am saying atleast give us the option to be able to fight. The only things anyone can do about a heavy in a 1v1 fight is to either run away or be able to hope they have enough time to throw a nade.
Run in a group you say? 1- there is a very high % that you are not running with a group. 2- heavy can take down 4 man groups with no opposing heavy. Always have nades you say? 1- you hardly have time to use them. 2- sp dump. Just run away you say? 1- the game become no fun just playing hide and seek. 2- you hardly have time once they are too close.
There is just too much a heavy can do. He can mass murder, anti-tank, snipe with certain guns, and counters pretty much every class, but there are hardly any counters for a heavy besides a sniper in the distance, or things like railguns or tanks. If they add a fix such as low cost nades and lower the damage a heavy can do. I am 100% fine with that. I just want some kind of balance please.
I would really like feedback from a Dev. because i know most of the people will probably say that we just have no skill, or stop crying about it and play heavy or something stupid like this. if you read the description of a heavy this is exactly what they should do. if you get in close combat with a heavy and your not a heavy you should be paste. However heavys are slow as dirt escaping from a heavy isnt hard. Smart players sit at medium range and circle around heavys picking them off past the very limited range of a HMG. Forge guns have a nice slow recharge to contend with. |

to the OP.... if a heavy got yo your perch, find a new one when you respawn.
honestly, the heavy has already been hit with the nerf sledgehammer enough as it is, and where they are is entirely fine. secondly.. if you dont keep a decent side arm in hand, then you really, REALLY need to rethink that.i have seen scouts dance around a heavy's HMG sweep and take not a single hit, and then use an SMG to shred the heavy. hell, i've done that in my assault suit.
as a scout, your mobility is your big edge against a heavy, so either fight using an SMG/Pistol, or RLH, because those are your only options in that situation |
