What are you talking about? Respecs and bug fixes have nothing to do with events. In addition, preparation for this event started well before the ISK blunder. Also the 2 days that CCP should spent Respecing everyone, was spent fixing the "ISK" problem... Now they going to create 300 new alts, with free SP... when in the main time, lots of people haven't have their Respec yet ... Priorities huh ? People keep assuming CCP has about 2 devs that do all the tasks. Have you ever heard the phrase "Not the same people"? Anyway, the event was planned in advance and preparations were made. That has nothing to do with respecs or fixes. Dude... i'm just sick of seen how CCP prioritize things...Metagaming is far more important, than something that should be very simple... just Respec everyone that asked for it. I'm sure is not as hard as CCP is trying to make it sound.
This proves you have no idea how working on huge databases work. This "respect" is not a simple task in any sense of word. People's really really hate how people are so I'll informed on how It works where the modern day day car manacics we could s could say anything and most people would be no thr wiser :-P |

Typing fail on my part. On any kind of large database that is hit heavily even doing a search based off a primary key can grind it to a halt u simpley just can't do select x users do fancy query. And in this case u have to work out how much Sp to refund how much to take off AND make sure it's correct. Any kind of mistake or mistyped can lead to all sorts of odd errors. Iv almost lost my job by running a search query on a live database by mistake :-( |

The information about which accounts needs to be Respec, is already in the "Database"...the rest should be as simple as reverting the total SP ( Life time SP ) back to the unallocated stage. And that could been done simultaneously across all the "Flagged" accounts.
From experience while it sounds simple this deffently not. Try writing out the statement u would use :-) trying not to **** I only how complicated "simple" fixes can be from experience :-) |
