I'll get right down to it, we're pretty active players, even though we have jobs and lives we manage to get several matches in a day, what sucks is that we rarely run with a squad bigger than 3 people, we can kick some ass even with that but its getting kind of frustrating not having people to play with.
We're not leaving the corp anytime soon so big recruiters don't even go there. What we need is ways to get our name out there or ways to get more people involved, and its not easy with this sea of recruitment advertisements on the forums and the giant mega-corps sucking up all the potential. I've tried to contact people directly, people we used to play with or just people who know what they're doing and who we think could help, but we've either been ignored or it hasn't really been beneficial at all.
Right now we don't care about stealing your districts. I just want to get to the point where we're not flying solo and where the game is less torture and more fun. If anyone's got ideas or wants to team up and lend us some manpower/friendly and familiar faces PLEASE speak up.
Thanks for listening. |

Can't really tell which randoms don't have a corp, don't know if there's a way to quickly find out, guess it doesn't really make a difference, trial and error will eventually do something. Just a pain in the ass because how many people, say in local chat, will actually see that message? It'll work little by little and I'll definitely try it but I still feel like there's a better way. |

there is a publicly viewable list of the NPC corps somewhere on the EVE wiki in a dev blog. I understand your problems, Myself and a few others grew our organization from less that five to almost fifty and rising. Its gonna suck, and it's going to be difficult. But if you stick with it it is very much doable. My best advice for you is you need something that will make you stand our from the rest of the corps what do you have that is marketable that no one else does. that will be your selling point. |

Hey Komodo Jones
My advice:
1 - get you self a recruitment post right here in the forum, my corp had just three players for a long time you just have to be persistent.
2 - in game use the local chat send a message saying that your corp is recruiting if there are new players or player how want to change corp they may be interested.
3 - you could join an alliance y corp has just join one (Lokun Listamenn Alliance) joining an alliance will give you other mercs to squad up with while your trying to grow your corp |

So far I'd say we're fairly boring on that account, except we always did like pulling wacky stunts and just being a 1 man badass but that's just difficult in this game, however my buddy did just recently punch someone out of a dropship...but yeah if there's just a list of players on default corps that would probably cut the trial and error time down, you have the link for that thing nemo?
And akuma I tried those first 2 a few times and didn't get crap haha, persistence is one this but if ur persistent at punching a brick wall you won't get very far anytime soon. However I definitely wouldn't mind teaming up, should at least keep my peeps from getting bored when we're not recruiting, buuut I don't really know how alliances work :) |

Contacted the alliance dude you pointed me to, now I wait. How many people are in your channel? Honestly I don't want a bunch of random guns looking for a squad, I can get that anywhere, don't care about fillers. And what's the channel name? |

If you want tips on how to get yourselves out there, look through the other corporations recruitment posts. Get ideas from other people. Hell, I built an empire out of the word "Funsies." Quite literally. I started as a corp of just me, and now I'm the executor of an entire alliance of almost 600 people. The biggest thing you can do is keep your head high and laugh at your own failings in matches. People like a confident CEO. Just don't be an egotistical asshat. |

We created the FSC for this very problem... Well, this and because we wanted to be involved in PC... We are a group of small corps (22) who banded together to help out but keep our corps... We've grown immensely in the past couple months... We got the go ahead from general tso's alliance to bring our coalition under their banner and we are on the cusp of breaking 1k members this weekend in the alliance.
Anyways, if your corp is interested you're more than willing to sign your corp up with the FSC, we've got very good players and there's always someone looking to join a squad, I rarely run less than 6 man squads now because of the size we are now. |

I applaud you for using the word "asshat" and no I'm usually the most chill player i play with, where most people get frustrated when a tank is unbeatable, I'll throw respect his way just for being good at what he does. Same with just how matches go, i don't care about having a low KDR or if we lose, I aim towards winning but I just do whatever helps the team do as much damage as possible and if i gotta make a couple sacrifices who cares.
Shinysides i did just contact Shyeer through dust mail about this whole thing but i really don't know how these alliances work, again I don't mind working with people so if I got connections to giant alliances like this I'm cool with that, I'd prefer to play with the same people once in a while but i guess that will happen once more people join. |

I generally play with the same 10-15 guys because we're all on at the same time and we all get along pretty well.. There's plenty of guys to squad with regularly of that's what you need and we're all pretty active daily.
The whole alliance thing is pretty simple really, you corp applies with an eve CEO if you have an eve toon to an eve alliance, they accept and you're in under their tag like mine says "general tso's alliance" under my corp name...the alliance doesn't do much for you right now as not much has been opened up.
If you don't have an eve toon, you can't join an alliance unless either A. You create a two week trial just to apply to an alliance. B. you have balls of steel and trust giving CEO of your corp to an eve player to join you in the alliance.
The general tso executor (burseg sardaukar) has been given the CEO to multiple corps to aid in the entry to general tso's and he has been a class act, he applies to the alliance for you and gives your CEO status back to you as soon as the app goes thru (24hrs).
FSC is a coalition of corps which is just a very loose group of corps agreeing to ally and help each other, there is nothing else holding us together but our word... However, allot of us have gone under the tso tag just to be more established and band together easier but entry into general tso's is not a requirement for FSC. |

Yeah I'm probably not gonna get on eve, I mean it looks awesome but I'd rather not pay a monthly fee for it, not to mention I'm 10 years late to the game. It sounds like alot of bs just to get involved with eve players in an alliance, like there's no reason it should get into all of that you should just be able to make an alliance and recruit eve players. So hold on a sec, dust corps can basically work for eve corps in an alliance but it doesn't work the other way around? That's the impression I'm getting and I have a problem with the idea that I'd be really limited in our capabilities if we don't know eve players or aren't eve players ourselves.
Ugh, well for now all I care about is having more people to play with and now I got a few good ideas and access to big ass groups of players so this will help alot, thanks all! |

Ok so since I got so much feedback with this, what we're probably going to do is just get on everyone's channel, then some days we'll play with locals for recruiting purposes, some days we'll play on these channels and see who we gravitate towards, at the very least we'll have plenty of people to play with and then just see what happens from there. Thanks for including yourselves in this, I have a feeling alot of players wouldn't even want to take the time to read this :) |

I would recommend the FSC. It will give you the most acces to other players without as much hassel as joining an eve alliance. You can also join the 7 EC chat channel if you want to squad up with us. We have several squads running every night and we like running with new people. The channel has a couple directors in it but they can get you squaded up with some SE7N guys pretty easily. We are also a corp that has the same attitudes and life situations as you guys. We built our corp on that. There are a lot of players out there just looking for a chill place to call home and shoot people in the face.
Have fun. |

Just get as much people in your corp as possible to make you look good, Then that will make people want to join because you go alot of members, Then make your restrictions higher then start kicking people that you don't want... Then BOOOM! You have a decent corp!

Decent corp but crappy leadership lol, not kicking the people who are having trouble im gonna try to help them out. Everyone is a crappy player at some point, some people have buttloads of sp and still feel like noobs when **** goes down, I thought I was half decent with 5 mil but got my ass kicked several times this morning playing really tough guys and realized I don't really know ****.
Rhorian you related to the darkstar army? I tried contacting them twice with no answer. anyway alliance doesn't sound bad I guess but I'll see what happens. thought about making a vid and my buddy has recording equipment so it could be done, my thought was that it wouldn't be too useful at this point because no-one really knows about us and there's already a bunch of crap to wade through on youtube, probably alot of recruitment vids, but then again if people knew about us they wouldn't need to see a video they would just join lol, so maybe u have a point.
And Red dot I think I got the right channel, is it just "7 EC"?
Also if I can only pick 1 alliance that could be a problem, you guys should all merge so I don't have to make a decision :D |

To the op, I'm not with the darkstar army I'm with general tso. I know how you feel with recruiting. I thought it was going to take forever, a word of advice ENDURE. It may suck and be slow now but will started to go faster in the future if just have a little patiences. It hard for me at first but I stuck to it and since then things have started to pick up in pace.-á
Here's what you should 1. Make a recruitment thread ( beware of spies tho) 2. Advertise ingame 3. Invite randoms to squad 4. Spam mail after matches to ppl in npc corps 5. Join an alliance 6. Make a vid (optional but it really helps)
Well those are my advice! Check the FSC channel if you have question or our forum post. Btw if you want I can create you a vid! |

Well I've seen alot of recruitment videos and honestly alot of them look really boring to me and I just see and and go I cando way better, I have a buddy with recording equipment (who I'm also trying to get on dust but so far he's just been collecting passive sp since the beta) so I have the capability to, I just want to get a crapload of silly footage to use, it will probably be a while til I get a video up. Like I said my main goal right now is just to play with more people and we actually just opened up our own public channel because we had a kick ass night playing with people we just met. I apparently did well enough to attract the attention of someone on the team and they wanted in. So yeah it seems like we're slowly starting to expand.
So far I haven't done much active recruiting, I just like to get on and start playing and I don't really care who its with. Alright so my big thing is I do not like to do things like just go on local chat and just say hey we're a corp we're hiring join up, or just tell it to everyone we play with, just because it makes me feel like a sleezy salesman and I've just always had a problem with that, I understand that we have to do something to catalyze the flow of applications but if it were up to me I would just keep playing and eventually have **** happen like tonight where we get a few people who go "whoa you guys are good where do I sign up". So I have a bunch of ideas on what CAN be done to get more people, now it's just the problem of which one(s) of those fits best with that kind of style, where we just let things happen and people can decide on their own. If I had to guess it would probably be vids. |
