Helloooo fellow mercs!
so I used to make some solo small gang pvp videos of eve online. I now find myself playing Dust 514 and thought I might start doing some videos for it as I enjoy the process of recording and editing footage. At the moment I am just kind of ranting over the top of it all as I find my feet, I hope to try and build up some good conversation about dust 514. Whilst addressing issues I want to stay as positive as I can about this game i really enjoy playing.

got really frustrated trying make a full length version of the sounds of dust thingy i been working on, so pretty much gave up on what I had and going to start again, hopefully with some more creativity...
just uploaded the remix of it that I had before starting again...
any idea's or suggestions on what I could do to really make it work would be really great, dunno if I should try and make it sound like a real tune, like a cover of something (like queens another one bites the 'DUST') or just make it original... |

Work those editing and music skills. Do something original it'll be more rewarding. Find a rhythm you like, treat it like your chorus.
You can lay out your rhythm at the beginning sort of how you did in your first video then transition into and out of non-musical single segments of gameplay. Preferably an entertaining gunfight showing pro leet skill. Then pick a sound as your cue and go back into a rhythm.
The reload on the mass driver is a perfect lead in to a rhythm. Actually just about any gun's reload animation is very rhythmical. A lot of the reload animation SFX fall in a 4/4 time signature I think. I don't think any of them are in weird times just varying BPM. You could choose a reload you like best and that could be BPM. I'm sure you could "jam" out a rhythm on top of one of those. |
