Im mainly a vehicle person but soon i will just be stacking up SP and waiting for the next round of vehicles and turrets to be added so i spec into them
As i am waiting im thinking about dropsuits and weapons
I bought the AUR scrambler rifle to try out, no skills needed
Its a fun weapon and i do like it and the amarr assault dropsuit have a bonus for that weapon aswell so its made for it
But i also looked at the logi suit and it has a sidearm slot
But both suits have a 3H 3L where as the other varients generally have 1 more slot or in some cases like the caladri logi 3 more slots
Its just a general observation but to those who use it or want to use it do you think the amarr dropsuits are a little bit underpowered and need a slight buff or are they perfectly fine and useful in battle |

Well I'd never turn down a buff to the Holy Amarr Empire I don't normally see any real deficiency of the Amarr suits, though I only use the Assault variant, the racial buffs I imagine are great.
Only issue I saw was that I thought the Amarr were the primary armour tankers of EVE with the best tech....
Wouldn't mind more base armour less shields.
Also the Laser would be nicer if they removed those damn sights.
As for all the other amarr crap I find it to be excellent gear though Im heavily biased. |

only problem is i split spec into both shield and Armour so its a bit confusing at times what i really want to go for next |

The Adv Amarr Logi is actually good (9.7 armor regeneration before respec with only 1 armor regenerator) , except for its PG/CPU. Never tried the Proto version nor the Assaults. Proto Amarr assault should work wonders for Carthum Assault Scrambler rifles though... |

A-Logi Side Arm slot is a good trade off for 1 High or Low.
Amarr Assualt Proto does need 1 more Slot somewhere because at 6 total while other Civs have 7 is a huge difference. At the current ISK cost for just 6 slots is bit too much. The only good thing is that the CPU/PG is higher then the other Civs assault proto. Then the trade appears to be the MS is only 4.7, Why?
Now, if they gave the Amarr Assault Proto, 2 Equipment slots (that someone birdie suggested to me the other day) then were talking and you could leave them with just 3 & 3. |

So all in all its good and not really a downside as such
The assault works well for the main weapon and can omnitank but that is where the problem lies since do you go armor or shield or both if you want tank tank so more SP
Logi has sidearm slot so yea a good payoff since you can defend yourself twice as well but thats at proto
If anything i would start at basic and tbh i would be lacking so many essential skills that i would need for everything in general, im looking at a basic suit with basic mods i can prob do for 1mil SP but i might aswell just save up and watch the changes because my new HAVs/LAVs and dropships with new turrets could cost a pretty penny in ISK and SP
Thx for answers |

Slot allocation on the Amarr suits are kind of off putting at first, but it makes sense when you see their significantly higher CPU/PG pool. Basically, they can equip higher level modules and weapons on a lower meta level suit, which is a somewhat decent tradeoff since they can do more with less. Proto assault is where the real trouble begins though. For some odd reason, they made Amarr hybrid tankers, better than the Minmatar and with a speed penalty on top. The assault bonus is useless for those that want to armor tank while using damage mods too. This really needs to get reworked, because it's not fair for Gallente or Amarr assaults and we have 2-+ shield tanking races when it should be 2:2. If I was in the dev seat, I'd probably give both races a more sensible efficiency bonus to armor modules. Problems aside, the Amarr Assault is actually a very well rounded suit which complements the fun to use scrambler rifle. Once they fix lasers to the point that you can actually see where you're shooting, that would be a viable weapon for the class too. Oddly enough, I still have a guy in my corp that still melts faces with the ELM/Viziam like we were still in chromosome. For obvious reasons, he won't share his fitting. |

Nothing but damage mods I'd bet. Plus probably isn't aimin down the laser sight and using heat buildup damage bonus effectively.
Hyperbole aside - the suits racial bonus on the assault variant is quite good. You notice a significant difference with scrambler rifles. |
