I've learned pretty quickly that commuting down a certain path can probably be your only choice considering the amount of SP required so I have a question or two for some vets:
1) I want to do a logistics build, period. However my choice comes down to Calderi or Gallente, and I dont know which one I want to commit. From what I can gather the Calderi suit is more of a front line fighter than the rest, but does having one less equipment slot hurt you?
2) tying into the first, I have one character of each race and was going to put the other into Assault suits. What are pros and cons of each of those suit types? I already know the shield vs armor tradeoff but are there any other factors to consider (besides how sweet the Calderi prototype suit looks)? I know Hybrid weapons aren't implemented yet which sucks.
3) is there a possibility of taking one character down two skill paths? The sheet amount of SP required is daunting but since you can basically earn as much as you want over time I'd think its possible.
Some insight before I commit would be amazing, I'm waiting for a respect from my beta character before doing much else though he finally has enough SP to get the Calderi Logi/Assault skill. |

Thanks for the tips. I'm trying my hardest to enjoy the game but its really hard when I just die instantly all the time before I can even react to being shot and I lack any sort of actual team, let alone squad. I can't get anyone I know to get past the learning curve. |

As stated, Amarr kind of just sucks and Minmatar racial bonuses just aren't appealing to me. Being able to rush ahead and hack faster would tempt me to run and gun which is not my intention (nor what I'm good at in Dust!). I love the look of the suit though. Caldari has been doing me well now that I've gotten dual shield extenders in, I'm able to/learning how to dodge enemy fire and get back in cover to recharge. Gallente would've been the sender but with armor and repairers, and the idea of the 4 slots+high flexibility for future equipment/module adds is VERY enticing, as I'm sure in time there will be amazing Logi builds exclusive to that dropsuit.
I ended up getting Caldari to stay true to the race I picked in the first place but when I am playing games with teams who are squading up and moving g as a unit (regardless if there's mics or plans or organization), I'm finding I die much less and contribute much more.
Now if only swapping g to equipment with the mouse and keyboard wasn't so damn awkward. |
