Ok. So I'm loving this game. But I am not really used to FPS and so I was getting my ass handed to me in gun fights. That's when I though, "Ooooooo, I'll be a medic!" But you know what. Every once in awhile it works out great too. But most of the time people are running from me while I heal them or not waiting for me to resurrect them or just generally not sticking together and letting me do my job. Now I am starting to think I might just go HMG with a tank dude after the respec and just ditch the whole medic thing because it relies so much on my "team". Thoughts? |

Yea, us Logistics are VERY under-estimated at times. I wouldn't suggest being a Medic, if you want to get kills. The Logistics is very nice (My favorite role, since I switched from Sniping) because it's incredibly adaptable. You can pretty much make anything out of a Logistics. I gave up the Medic role a long time ago (Just switched primary, I still Medic at times), and switched to a Demolitions. Demolitions are Logistics that rack up more kills per match, compared to other Logis. We carry Remote Explosives, to easily kill a man (It does over 1000 damage. Insta-kill for anyone hit by it, given their close enough to the contact point), and a Mass Driver, to, as they say, 'Drive the masses'. We're great for Area Denial and hack-preventing.
I can still even fit in an Uplink and a Nanohive, with my REs, in case I don't get enough kills, I can still get the WP. |

I've experimented with explosives and I usually just blow myself up! :) I do like the idea of specializing in explosives with the option of nano hives and uplinks. I've tried all those combos. I just really like sticking with a squad and healing and triage and guardian and all that. But it's a rare match that I actually get a squad who will stick together and let me help them. |

Oh, also, I don't care if I get kills really. Just lots of points! ;) |

I don't like the MD. I tried way back in beta and could never hit anything and of course people shot me from a distance. Ive never messed with explosives though. |

The MD requires an incredible amount of skill. You actually need real-world knowledge to operate it, at times. It requires knowing the limits, the strengths, and physics knowledge (for lack of a better word) to calculate where your hits will land, without taking too long. :P. Also, a ton of luck. :) |

I am in the same situation as the OP. I really want to be a medic, though. I'm hoping people will stop running away when they really need the repair tool! |

Yea, one of my first posts was a guide for Logistics, that applied to Assaults, telling them what NOT to do. I'm sure that was on the list. It is sadly not updated to Uprising, and I don't think it will be any time soon. |

I also wish all the repair tools weren't so broken... Every time I try to use that nano injector it is hit or miss. literally... |

Nonono. Repair Tools and Ninite Injectors are totaly different, and yes the Injectors are broken. But I carry a Repair Tool on my Demolitions, and it works fine. |

Try to stick around a few non-Caldari players if you want to repair people. Those are difficult to find, but they are much more likely to require your service and they will pay much more attention to your presence.
But yeah, you need a fun main weapon so you don't get bored between doing your actual job. |

If you're thinking of using the MD, I would treat it at the moment as a shotgun with more range and less damage (both at "optimals").
Also, use flux grenades.
As for playing logistics, it's an unbelievably versatile dropsuit. Here are the suits I have set up (only have three fittings at the moment since things changed with the respec):
- Full Support Suit - max tank and max equipment (skill and suit dependent, but this is the priority); very little goes to killing outside of nades and an exile assault rifle. I use this when I find a good group to run with (whether it be for the night or on a per match basis).
- Assault Logi - more emphasis on gank with a little tank; enough equipment to keep yourself and any teammates up, repped, and stocked. Basically, I use this suit when teammates are less than likely to coordinate or play the objective. It still allows you to support, but you are not completely dependent on group for success. It allows you to be more assault based then support based.
- Logisault - Split between the two. Pick the equipment you find is best for the situation, enough tank with a little gank.

If you get skilled enough with the MD though, you don't need Flux 'Nades. I mean, Falcs is skilled, but he get's faster kills. I don't like to be pure Anti-Infantry, so I carry AV 'Nades. |

Logi's are most effective, and appreciated, within corps. Generally corp squads are much more aware of their Logi and try to remain in support range of that Logi. If you are enjoying playing Logi then continue to skill into your core skills and then skill into a better dropsuit and equipment.
Core skills will help you even if you decide to skill into a differ
If you start to rake in the WP then most corps will start to take notice and then it is a matter of selecting one that has members you enjoy playing with. If you get invites to join corps then you can either join or ask if you can squad with them first. |

There's the problem, right there. More often the term "squad" is a misnomer for "group of lone wolves who just happen to be on the same comms channel". It's depressing and frustrating trying to support a fractured squad. |

yes it can be tough at times to get a good squad to stick together. If you are looking for a group look me up in game the corp I am in is very good about running in squads and they love the logi support(I run an min adv logi suit). Also if you are playing pub matches I would suggest using flux repair tool for the longer range. Also if you find they are not waiting for you to revive them swap to a droplink this will allow you to setup a spawn point for them instead. |
