Got my respec I have been giving alot of thought to what race I want to go. I play a support logi but find myself on or near the frontlines more often than not. I have been Minmatar my whole career as a logi so I know what it brings to the table (pretty balanced class no real strengths)...So,
Caldari-was/is the OP flavor of the month, Shields so they are fast but low armor leaves you with a little HP pool if things get tough...tons of shield counters out there.
Gallente-armor logi, SLOW, not alot of variable options it seems
Amarr-side arm is useless to me as I have only been a logi and never remember its there.
This is how I see them...so tell me if I am wrong, if there is a obvious suit I am missing. Survivability is key...I am not the most discipline player I tend to run out when people are just standing around but when a heavy needs help I am at his side. Any help would be nice |

The slow down you take as a gall logi isn't extremely terrible, but it does suck. Honestly, the only thing that sucks more for gall logis is the new proliferation of fused grenades. Seriously, everyone's going to be tossing those things and they hate armor tanked doodz. D: |

Minmitar has a nice suit so does Caldari and Galente. If your suit fits your playstyle then keep it. If you would rather play differently and adjust to a new suit then do that. Each of the suits are designed with a different playstyle in mind so if you want to be able to have a constant rep on your suit's tank then go Galente, if you like to be a fast moving logi who will need to keep moving go Caldari, Minmitar can do either and both at the same time due to the balanced suit layout.
One thing to also keep in mind is the proto slot layout. Galente have 4 equipment as do the Minmitar logi suits. Caldari has 3 and Amarr has 2. |

Hey hey hey, you obviously haven't been Logi for long if you don't remember when they took our sidearms away! But in all seriousness the Amarr Logi suit is the BEST flatout for using the repair tool. If you carry the rep tool and the injector you can singlehandedly keep your squad in the fight rather well. Just make one of the assaults be hivebitch and your set. |

Ok, you're wrong
Gallente Logi is propably the most versatile in my opinion, mostly because the 5 lows (that don't need to go towards armor). 25% reduction to equipment CPU/PG means you can get good equipment while still having room for fitting options. I personally fit my prototype Gallente logi in two ways,
One as my triage logi, where I stack the 3 highs with complex shield extenders, then in my 5 lows add a couple enhanced armor plates then armor repairers. 312 shield, 373 armor, 17 armor repair rate, it works great for frontline duty picking people up. Then I have my speed logi where I use different tools like remote explosives and active scanners and such. Still stack the highs with complex shield extenders, but only one enhanced plate (which leaves me with around 300 armor). Then I have 4 slots to use for kinetic catalyzers and cardiac regulators, can make it pretty fast. And your CPU/PG rarely becomes a problem even with all slots filled, assuming you have skills in Electronics and Engineering. |

That's weird I've heard they are going to remove the assault-class because they are the ones that cry. |

Oh and I forgot cloaks and portable shields are coming. Hm, I may make a fit where I ditch armor plates all together and go for pure speed, bring a cloak, shield, uplink, and remote explosives. It'd probably be a better scout than a scout, sadly. |

You are mistaken my friend in that the proto Amarr logi gets 3 equipment slots, however, I just respeced into it from the Gallente logi and in comparison the Amarr logi is absolutely starved for PG

Stick with Minmatar if you are secure without a sidearm. They have one of the best passive bonuses, the hack speed. It doesnt' require a module so even just the 25% for the suit +10% from hacking 2 and you can be sure to hack fast enough not to be left out in the open while standing still hacking for too long. That and the Minmatar suit is super strong because of its balanced nature, it will no be at the whims of each patch nerfing or making it too OP near as much as the other suits. Like Amarr is considered underpowered right now, but next patch they might be OP. Gal with its 5 lows and suit bonus for reduction of equipment fitting might get nerfed, and Cal with its 5 high stacking 5 extenders might get super nerfed next patch. No one complains about minmatar. |

I played logi heavily during Uprising 1.0 (okay, that's not a lot of time, but still....)
My favortie suit of the 2 I used (Gallente and Minmitar) was the Minmitar.
The standard Minmitar speed 5.0 / 7.0 is the same as most standard assault suits, and with the 4 low slots (at proto level) you can afford to add 1 or 2 armor modules without slowing you down as much as the other logis who add armor. Additionally, the Minnie logi has 150 armor v.s. the gallente's 180, so you are only loosing 30 armor by going Minmitar over Gallente.
The 5 low slots of the Gallente is nice, but with the Min you can stack 1 or 2 armor plates, an armor rep and a kincat for speed. Additionally, with the 4 high slots you can stack shields or even a damage mod. It's a very flexible build. If you wanted pure speed you can go more kincats, less armor and if you want frontline duty you can go more armor/shields.
Min for the win. |

Nice points everyone. I would interested in seeing some HP totals and movement speed numbers if you can. With Caldari you could basically armor up with 3 complex plates, 1 CPU (435 armor) and be slow, then shield up a bit and maybe damage mods? Gallente cannot shield up at all (300ish max) and 4 slots in proto is nice but that is a PC only thing for me (never wear proto anywhere else)...the advanced versions are the same basically. So in theory couldn't you set up a Caldari as an armor tank and be slow like the galette for when your pure defense pocket healer, or have a faster shield tank for taking frontline positions? Gallete you stuck with armor only...low shields and 3 high slots will not get much for shields...then to be more frontline you cannot run much for plates either...the HP difference is basically 1 complex armor plate or 1 complex & 1 enhanced shield extender...right?? The caldari run into the same CPU/PG issues are every other logi except Gallente right if so I had no real issues fitting a proto minmatar

Well again remember that though a Gallente Logi can only get up to a bit over 300 shield you also have around 100 more base armor than Caldari, so your EHP is about the same. And again Gallente gets to versatility to either use those 5 lows for armor or speed.
Don't think many people will go through and give you a detailed list of all the possibilities, but you can try messing around with some numbers yourself with the fitting tool https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=67188&find=unread |

If a Gallente invested all of his slots into Complex armor they would have the highest EHP, but because of the penalties most dont stack over 2, and we rely on shields to make up the rest. After messing with a fitting tool this is the max EHP the Caldari Logi/Assault and the Gallente Logi/Assault can get with 2 enhanced armor plates and complex shield extenders on all high slots.
CaLogi 977 EHP Caldari Assault 890 EHP
GaLogi 743 EHP Gallente Assault 818 EHP
A overall nerf to the Logis will really hurt the Gallente, Minmatar and Amarr, while making the CaLogi more comparable to a normal Assault suit. A nerf should only be for the Caldari Logi. And As you can see the Gallente Assault is superior to the Gallente Logistics when it comes to total EHP, because of that they can actually sacrifice a High slot for a Complex Light MOD, to get 746 EHP + a 10% Damage boost, so they are still better at being an Assault and they have enough CPU/PG to get a tool, grenade, and side arm. |

If I remember correctly the Gallente has a bonus towards PG and CPU so you seem to have gone from one extreme to the other. Is the extra sidearm worth it? |

IMO:
Gallente is the. best support logi with its 4 equip slots and the very needed fitting bonus. Caldari is the best Support/Assault hybrid, for obvious reasons. Minmatar is a synthesis of those two, not better at either role but can be decent at both. It also has good tactical uses because of the speed and hacking bonuses. Amarr seems kind of meh, to me. It pays too much for its sidearm. The lower CPU/PG is understandable because of it's fewer total slots, but the sidearm simply isn't worth the large tradeoffs. |
