LAv's one hit KO anything infantry.
I prefer shields. it supports my style of play of not having to rely on others to keep me alive. (for the most part) |

Armor: more options, higher base HP, plates better than extenders, reppers better than booster, option to go max damage.
I haven't put anything into Caldari LAV, and I won't. I do like the natural resistance to swarms, but the LAVs are just too light, and the Gunnlogi is too constrained by the lack of powergrid. |

Armor rep tank with Gallente skills to boost, it reps fast with no speed penalties and leaves the high slots open for fun. I can be back to full armor in the time it takes the shields to start to recovering. |

The only thing that happens is I end up stopping because of all of his fatness.

Eventually, they'll fix this road kill situation where the Heavys will surive but critcally damage or the LAVs would take damage from all the infantry they run over. As if I care because I use AVs so you better watch out |

Armor only for me, whether it be supported by a DC in a vehicle or to let me bring multiple damage mods on foot. |

I find that shields work great if you plan on hanging around with your infantry and provide support. The shield regen is nice and is naturally resistant to av nades and swarms.
Armor is great for popping enemy tanks one on one. The active hardeners are great, and when coupled with their armor rep, can normally outlast almost any shield tank. They don't last long against av though, and armor has no natural regen, so you're better off hanging out in the back until you're needed.
TL;DR - Shield for extended troop support, armor for tank brawling. |

Gallente armor tank. Same movement speed, more HP, better resistance to counters (lolcontactnade ) and you can get repped by logis/put damage in the high slots. |

Both, but I prefer armor. I actually have more armor than shield and my armor repairs faster than my shield, not even taking into consideration the delay for shieds.

As if I care because I use AVs so you better watch out Before the respec I didn't notice much with the LAVs but for some reason now that I can make a suit that costs 150k the LAVs are all over the place running me over. No more skill points left for proto AV grenades, but that's next on my to-do list. Until then, I'm staying off the roads (or open areas in general).

The topic is about tank not HAV ... there's a difference !
I prefer armor tank my suits so I got options for more EHP or more damage using the highs, so I've gone for Amarr suits for the repair bonuses, I also skilled Surya back in E3 but at the time it was inferior to the Sagaris and when people realised it was an I win button there were too many of them for too many builds.
/me is just happy armor tanking dropsuits is finally viable'ish :-) |

Lol. I completely agree. It's times like this that makes me laugh when people use words like "tank" to describe buffing up a dropsuit. And then someone else comes along and thinks the discussion is about vehicles. Just baffles me.
How about this:
Tank armor
Or
Tank armor?
Take a guess what the subject is. |
