before you people start saying QQ more or whatever, this is an FPS, not an MMO. It should not be made overly difficult. I understand that this game is meant to be more difficult that your average FPS, but this is ridiculous. So my tank was stolen, along with my time that I put in to buying that tank.
Gawd I hate this game. You people may love the difficulty, but the average person will not and soon you'll have no one to play with because better FPS will come along and deposit this one in the turd bin, which is apparently where it belongs.
This IS NOT Eve Online. Mechanics like this should not exist.
I love this feature. IT makes people like you look like the idiots you are.
Ok, sorry that was harsh. Just tired of COD retards...
Ok sorry that was harsh too. Plainly put, this game focuses on making the battles realistic. in a futuristic sense.
If your dumb enough to call in a tank in a place where its not safe, and you get shot, tough luck, deal with it.
Here's another thing you may not have realized..
1) If you don't like it.. Stop playing....
2) It balances, and makes Alliance wars, battles, corporation battles, much more realistic, and strategic.
3) Just because it doesn't cater to half witted retards, doesn't mean its bad.. Sorry to break it to you.
4) Just because your not reimbursed and your screwed... Doesn't make it bad.. Learn from your mistake like a big boy.
5) Welcome to New Eden, its not meant for half hearted dim wits who have no intelligence. If this game is to tough for you, COD and Hello Kitty Online is that way ---------------->
P.S. Yes technically this is EVE Online. Dust 514 is directly linked to EVE Online, it has all the same mechanics as EVE online, or at least all the mechanics which can logically be put into an FPS game. Its unforgiving, just like EVE Online, your in New Eden fighting on planets which actually exist in EVE Online, along with literally altering who controls what in EVE Online.. Arguing this isn't EVE Online so it should be stupid simple with no skill involved game play is not only counter productive, but totally ignorant on so many levels. |

Yep it should.
Did this to a guy who was calling in a tank at Ob E near blue deployment zone. Was wondering why he was crouched in the middle of the road, so headshot him with a sniper rifle. Tank drops in and blues steal it. Utterly hilarious
Don't bring what you can't afford to lose to battle.

BTW, I was in an out of the way area at the beginning of the match.
You people will defend the game mechanics till the day you die...lol Fanboys.
yeah....THIS GAME IS PERFECT!
If something sucks, why cant you just admit it sucks. If a player calls in a tank, and he dies before the tank gets there, the tank should not spawn. Simple really.
oh no...people just gotta say how dumb someone is or L2P or whatever you need to do to make yourselves feel better. Kinda sad really.
Insulting anyone who does not agree with you and calling them fanboys is pointless, you can also as easily be labeled as a "hater." for not agreeing with them. Granted, they're not really being the most mature crowd either, but how can you criticize them on how the act or tell them not to act some way, if you act the same or worse than that? Instead of name-calling and labeling others, why not just prove your point? Don't let the trolls here and there drag you to their level.
On to the actual point, if what you suggest was the case, then anyone would call their tank mid-battle without having to worry about losing it.
It does suck whenever you lose an expensive fit or vehicle, that's why has to be extra careful when using it. Its a risk vs reward kind of thing, you have to realize you're calling what's basically an advantage over regular infantry, can't have everyone doing so instantly.
That is also why one shouldn't call in the expensive stuff right away or as soon as they can afford it, but rather practice with the cheap militia stuff first, get the feel for it and see how everything works and when its best to use it,
Militia Tanks for example, those things only cost 138k Isk, which can be recovered in one match, you can use those at first to see where are the best positions and times to call them in.
Remember, just call in the expensive stuff when you need to or are prepare to lose it.
This game is far from perfect, and definitely not for everyone, I would recommend just dropping it if you're not enjoying it and maybe come back in a few weeks or months to see if the game is more enjoyable to you then.
Yes, it does have its share of problems as well right now, and if you don't have the patience to deal with them it may be best to step away and wait for the game to be polished a bit more. |

Much like EVE Online the game does not reward stupidity. You were staring up at the sky like a moron while waiting for your tank. Had you of been checking around for enemies like you should have been this never would have happened. |

The tank was spawned the moment your order has been received. When it says "ETA 15 seconds" your tank is already spawned, and heading to your location.
What you are proposing is the tank should "de-spawn" or magically disappear because you died.
Why exactly?
The dropship pilot isn't telepathically linked to you, they have no idea if you died. And the tank isn't symbiotically connected to the person who called it in, so the tank isn't gonna "die" with you. It's assumed you called in for a tank, in friendly territory under favourable circumstances.
Regardless of where you called in the order, even if behind the redline, and you get your tank stolen from you :
its SOLELY your fault. |

Two things here... Firstly:
agustis caesar wrote:this is an FPS, not an MMO. Actually, it's both.
Also:
Quote:This IS NOT Eve Online. I'm sorry, but YES IT IS.
I don't play the regular version of EVE (my PC can't handle it), but I have friends who do. I know the game well enough to understand. DUST isn't a standalone title. It's part of New Eden, and as such, it's a part of the same game. The first-person perspective and the ground combat doesn't negate that fact that this is still EVE Online.
No, I'm not a "fanboy". I've gone on record in public as complaining about a lot of mistakes that CCP have been making in DUST. That doesn't mean every complaint is deserved and legitimate. This one, for example, is a pathetic attempt to remove a legitimate tactic from the game because you don't like being punished for your mistakes. Maybe next time you should try to... NOT screw up? That tends to work slightly better than sucking at the game. |

In this game, you get penalized for frak'ing up. You lose your equipment, gear, weapons etc. You call in a LAV, HAV whatever and you frak up....guess what....you lose it.
Moral of the story.....don't frak up. |

I think it should just be put into the loot table for the team that stole it, so long as they can keep it alive and in their possession, with the same 50% salvage rate and maybe the expensive hull going to the kill shot of it's owner with the same 50% chance of being able to salvage it.
But either way putting the hull and it's fittings into the loot table for the team to sell when the market opens would be good.
Edited: but in current state, that's why you should run it into redline before end of match ! |
