I wish this was still beta so we could report these bugs and they would actually fix them promptly instead of putting them off for the next expansion. You know that's not how it is. They do listen, read our post and work towards solutions in a timely manner. I program micro processors and industrial control computers so I do understand how hard it is to create stable program that runs smoothly and is easy to use. I can't imagine how hard it is to create a program that is used all across the world on multiple iterations of a console and is connected to a totally separate game on a totally separate type of machine using code that is 10 years old. Not to mention the spotty internet connections that may not have the through put needed. They are doing a pretty good job for company that has never made a fps. Lastly, CCP devs are people with families and this game is a job to them not a game like it is to us. We play for fun and it feels like a job sometimes but it is their job and they deserve some respect and a little breathing room. What do you want them to do? They can spend their work week reading and responding to posts or they can code what we want. Continued pessimistic comments and emotionally driven diatribes only hurt what we are trying to accomplish. I think the issue is slow or nonexistent acknowledgment of a problem. Maybe CCP should hire a forum person, based in their office, either Iceland or Shanghai, and not be considered low man on the totem pole, but have access to the people in the know that would have answers fairly quickly.
It's not like you could use a basic computer and single screen efficiently when your job is keeping track of everything on an internet forum. I've never had that kind of job, but I think a core i3 or i5 with at least 4 GB of RAM, and at least two screens would be enough to keep track of everything, and merit a permanent position with CCP so the devs could keep at their work.
Or if they choose someone to do it remotely, the good horsepower could keep video chat open while using all those tabs and browsers. |
