Other than the minor bump in stats, is there any noticeable difference between the standard AR and GEK? I haven't noticed a difference but maybe some other people have noticed some performance differences. I'm trying to decide if I want to invest more SP and ISK into running a fitting with the GEK. Since I can die 3-8 times per match, the savings add up by only sticking with the standard Level 1 AR. |

Yes. I find the GEK more more effective. |

Small improvement to DPS per bullet on a fully automatic rifle means you will beat all STD ARs hands down all other things being equal. Is it worth it? Yes. |

Most of it is just players who use the GEK likely have more skill points elsewhere, better suits, and have played a bit longer and are better. The actual difference between the two guns is LUCKY to be a difference of one shot per kill. It helps sure, but gun difference in DUST is far less important than other loadout options.
Going from standard to proto gun is maybe 20% DPS increase. Meanwhile going from standard to proto gear is like 300% health and 20% speed... |

Remember, the bigger the number [more damage, w/e], the more your modules/skills affects it...
To answer the question, yes, it's definitely worth it to train into a GEK. |

lol
Crap i just learned that there is a standard AR.
For some reason i thought the Gek was next bump up from Militia...and I only took the bump for the larger magazine size.
45 bullets is simply not enough. |

Longer than that. It's been a beast since I joined the closed beta in May of last year... |
