Why are we still on this topic? It is getting old. CCP has acknowledged the problem and have stated multiple times they are working on a solution.
Why do you even care? How do campers affect you, other than the snipers who are sniping from the MCC, which I agree is an issue. But otherwise, who cares? So what if people are camping for SP, it doesn't affect you in any way, unless you are worried about your W/L Ratio, which is a pointless stat to begin with since it doesn't label anyone as a game changer.
Besides, with the way maps are now, even if you take away the MCC camping, people can find a ton of places to camp from without ever being found. There isn't anything that will stop campers, no matter what. This horse is old and worn out. Put it in the barn and stop beating on it. |

Camping in the redline for more than 30 seconds should stop people from gaining skill points, unless they hold zero objectives. This keeps people from giving up when dominated and provide some benefit from fighting a losing battle. As long as they hold one objective though, redliners should stop getting SP after a reasonable time. Even if they dance back and forth on the redline, this at least gives the enemies a way to kill the campers since friendly fire is not on for the blue dots. Also reduce the SP decay timer once they leave the redline, say the same time it would take to die in an enemy's redline. So you can run and hide safely, but you are losing skill points if you stay longer than 16 seconds. This would make camping a much more involved process and still give the red dots something to do when dominating a team full of campers. Sniper campers I have no problems with as long as they aren't exploiting geometry. I can easily anti-snipe them anywhere my bullets are allowed to hit them.
But this doesn't prevent camping. Look at Manus Peak for example. There are dozen of places outside the redline to camp. Same for other maps as well, especially the new ones. |

Still don't see the point. How do campers affect everyone else? All anyone has stated is how to stop it. But why stop it? How does it effect gameplay? How does it effect individual players? Why does it matter so much that players not be allowed to camp? Lot's of complaining, several solutions, but no real reason why it should be stopped. |

Me a camper? Yelp I have done it. However, even on my worst day and your best day I can out perform you regardless of SP.
#1 No an exploit. Exploits are methods of gameplay that are in fact not intended gameplay and somehow give the offender and unfair edge during gameplay. Additionally, exploits are bannable according to DUST's EULA. No one has been banned for camping.
#2 No team should hang their ability to win or lose on another player. You are playing for your enjoyment, not someone else's. Additionally, everything you said in that statement is opinion and not fact. Campers do not ruin my experience, decrease my desire to play, cause me to want to leave the game and in fact I have seen very few campers at all. Campers don't devalue gameplay unless you value your gameplay around your W/L stat, which IMO is not smart.

I addressed this in an earlier comment, in which I said that MCC snipers needed to be fixed. However, my later comment was not about MCC snipers and was about campers, in which case, IMO there is no reason to prevent players from camping. It doesn't in any way change game play.
If the only argument is, "We have 5 campers and the other team had none, that is why we lost." is your only reason, then sadly you are probably playing this game for the wrong reasons. |
