I'm a professional gamer. As in, I actually make money playing video games. Competitive gamers like myself require functional gameplay mechanics or we simply cannot thrive. That doesn't mean balanced mechanics, mind you, just functional ones that can be controlled. I don't need to explain how bad the aim mechanics currently are, or the issues this game has with frame rates. Everyone already knows. But I do feel the need to mention that these things cannot be controlled, and they directly affect my personal performance.
This type of situation is basically a no-win situation for myself. I cannot possibly achieve my maximum potential in this game if I am held back by uncontrollable variables to such an extent. The game as it is, being such an atrocious abomination in the eyes of competitive gaming, is beyond frustrating to play. Much to the point that people very easily put the game down and walk away forever if they are not competitive.
But I am. Worse yet, I know CCP's track record and I know they will fix these things. I also know they will take all the time in the world while keeping communication at a bare minimum. I also know that this particular game has the potential to become one of the most important first person shooters ever made, so it is important to get a foothold and keep it.
So I am stuck, playing this game week after week, lest I fall terribly behind on SP. To stay viable, I have to keep playing something that completely spits on everything I value from a competitive game. Since the launch of Uprising, I have yet to log off of Dust in a state where I was not given a very real physical headache from trying to overcompensate for this games broken mechanics.
So I just wanted you to know this, CCP Staff. Your game right now is so bad that for somebody out there who makes it his business to play video games, it is actually physically painful to touch. And this same person still has faith that you will fix this.
I want you to think about that every time you decide to blow off a request for information or half-ass a hotfix like you have been doing recently. Also, bug fixes do not make expansions. You don't require six months to justify fixing something. It's not appreciated. |

Azura Sakura wrote:I stopped reading at professional gamer. Because how exactly do you make money from playing Dust? Better off with CoD. Also if you are a professional gamer, you should be able to adapt to this game. I also wanna label myself as a hardcore gamer cause I play games for fun and can adapt easily. I play from a board range of FPS and was good at it I.e. MGO2, KZ2, BF3, SOCOM, Korean shooters on pc and Halo as well.
With Dust?
Currently, you don't. And until it gets fixed, you never will.
I didn't say I made money from Dust, I said I made money from competitive gaming and I do. What I said was that it is painful to play Dust as being a person who does this. You learn to identify certain traits in a game, and when they are absent it is much more noticeable.
I'll have to hand it to Imps though, most of their members place a strong emphasis on movement tech and less on aim tech. When you can't aim, movement is king. More difficult for a heavy like myself. Got in the wrong boat on that one too.
Life is rough all around. Heh. |

I play on 480p.
It does help to an extent, but it doesn't fix the core problems. There is still a delay and it is still noticeable.
Not to mention it makes the game blurry as hell. There are some instances at 480p I just can't see a proto against a dark backdrop to save my life. |

Absolutely correct. I make money from other games. Not this one.
I don't stop being a professional just because I chose to start playing Dust. My income has not stopped from other ventures.
This one is done currently as recreational with the hopes it will turn into something greater eventually. Even so, it is impossible to enjoy with such glaring flaws. It is so flawed, in fact, that even on a recreational level it is not enjoyable.
This is reflected easily enough by the majority of reviewers out there who, I assure you, are pretty terrible at nearly everything they touch. If a half-assed reviewer can feel something is wrong with the way the game functions, you can imagine how it effects someone who is used to playing at a professional level. |

Professionals get paid to play. Usually due to our capacity to win. That's why we are called professionals.
If there is any confusion after that, I'm not sure where it could possibly be coming from other than a deep desire to troll regardless of the content. |
