Then they plan for DUST to fail in about a years time when UE3 and PS3 fall off the face of the earth because 90 million people have moved on to the PS4 and next xbox. As much as people want to say that they will stay with previous generations tech, we all know they don't. Only a small amount of those poor bastards that are jobless or in debt will not move on once the new consoles are released. |

I strongly believe that if someone likes and actively plays this game, they can get a ps4 so all those sweet new shiny games, and keep their ps3 for this game. With ps4 have no backwards compatibility, won't most people be keeping their ps3's anyway? May as well use it for dust if it won't be on ps4.Not everyone always has to buy the new and throw away the old.Buying the new and keeping the old ftw. CCP has also been known to say to it's customers, "Upgrade or don't play our game." So maybe once the PS4 comes out and gets established they will move it over to PS4 only and then we can truly experience all that DUST can be. |

The PS4 won't block used games, The Xbox 1 will though with it's Used Game Fee, PS4 does not require an internet connection at all, let alone constant. Neither does the Xbox, though, on Xbox you must sign in at least once every 24 hours. Read my post again. You seemed to have missed a few details. I didn't say used games won't work on the PS4. I said the PS4 won't be backwards compatible. You also said that both systems require a constant internet connection which is a lie, or misinformation if you just don't know. So why would we take the rest of your post at face value knowing there is wrong information in it? |

If I were a developer I'd rather you play my game for free, than pay SOMEONE ELSE to play my game. In each case, I would make no money, but at least if you pirate it some third party isn't making a profit off of my work. If they really do make it so that things like Gamefly and Gamestop go away then they are taking a step in the wrong direction. Used games, rented games and shared games are nothing to scoff at and honestly after seeing what Xbox 1 is turning into I doubt I will be purchasing that system.

Also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbWgUO-Rqcw Buying used saves you what? $5 usually? And for that $5 savings you screw the developer out of making ANY money off the sale? It's a terrible and selfish practice, and frankly, it's only legal because making it illegal is too difficult to enforce. If game prices on consoles scaled based on age and popularity like they do for PC, no one would care about buying used. I haven't paid full price for a videogame in years, and I never buy used... then again, I never buy my games on little plastic discs either. **** the developers. Greedy snarky little bitches, selling you a game for $60 that isn't even complete and then charge you upwards of $60 or more totaling $120+ just for content that would equal what a game used to come with for $40-$50 dollars. I love my Gamefly. I get to play all the new games and then send them back when I am done with them and it only costs me a couple bucks a month and over half the games I rent from them are so crap I would of stopped buying games all together because of how sad the market is now.
I would feel bad for developers if more than half of the trash they released every year was worth half as much as the trash they released last year. Unfortunately we have left the era of great games though and now it is all about killing more monsters or higher res visuals or continuing that quest that noone really wanted to play in the first place but you just happened to be the only game that was kind of decent at the time. I find it funny that my NES collection is still my biggest game collection and still like 99% of those games more than half of every other systems games I own. Hell I only have 7 PS3 games that I actually own because the rest weren't worth more than a rental to even have them. |
