Cal logi isnt a well rounded suit, it favors shields. While you can have an armor plate or two, it wont make much of a difference, it is still a shield suit. As a result, you may want to invest in Shield Regulators so you can get the shields repping back up faster |

Worth it to throw on some armor plates?
I'm looking for an advanced logi suit for after the respec and was trying to figure if being able to take an extra few shots if your shields are down outweighs taking about a second and a half off your recharge delay or not. |

It's a powerful suit, but it has its weakness. As suggested, a little cover and regulators can go a long way. With that type of set up, you have a suit with generous passive tanking and a quick-ish regen for popping in and out of skirmishes.
EDIT: Just saw your second post. I would suggest experimenting with the fits. The speed loss may be neglible to you or noticeable. Only test driving will give you your best answer. Start with basic plates which offers the most HP with the least amount of speed loss. If you have to have the most HP per lo slot and damn the speed loss, then complex is your answer. For a happy-medium, use enhanced. |

Caldari are and always will be about shields. If you go with Caldari suits, vehicles, ships, whatever, learn how shields work and embrace them. If your shield is almost down, you're about to die, so it's time to GTFO. For Caldari, armor is just a little bit of wiggle room between your shields going down and you being dead.
Also, don't dual-tank. Pick shields or armor. |

If you want a more well-rounded suit (assuming you applied for the optional respec), go with Amarrian Logistics. I specced into this, thinking it was good, but I realized it had downsides...
PROS:
- It's very well-balanced in shield and armor, but later on it starts to favor armor by a couple points.
- Balanced Slots, meaning it would have the same High and Low slots, making you open for shield or armor tanking.
- The Prototype Amarrian Logistics suit has a sidearm slot, which is good for combat medics.
- Bonus to armor repair module effectiveness.
CONS:
- Low equipment slot count, the Prototype has 3, and the basic has 2.
- Slow suit. Logistics are supposed to be slower than assault, but this is slower than Logistics, faster than Heavy.

I slap a basic plate on my adv suit. Slows you down a bit but in those 'oh **** flux in the face' moments can be the difference between wishing someone else in your team had a needle and getting all your HP back behind cover.
The don't mix tanks thing is less applicable in dust compared to EVE imo. It's a trade-off between More speed + faster shield regen vs slightly slower + a bit more HP. |

If you really want to dual tank run Minmatar Logi. Amarr has great base but it's low slots can really bring it down. Minmatar have great number of Low & High slots with moderate base. They are very quick so a slight loss from armor plates is not a death sentence.
If you dual tank get kinetic catalyzers as these can wipe out armor plates speed loss.
Truly the death of Caldari is the flux and Scrambler rifle. You can run Regulators and rechargers to get shields back up quicker. The Assault suits are better for this than Logi though (one of the few areas the bonus is better than Logis).
