Carebear and powercreep balance has no place in this game.
There is 1 thing that elevates DUST over other MMOFPSs (cept PS2 maybe), its the meta, and its the unique structure of its market.
And this one variable can COMPLETELY override any complaints about things being OP or cheap or anything. Its the item-¦s price.
The HMG delivers untold tons of damage? The MD being a powerhouse in the right hands? Dont nerf into f-¦cking oblivion, make them cost a sh!tload.
Fatsuits being abused for running around with an AR? Make fatsuits 3x as expensive.
Laser rifles suck d!ck? Hand em out like its Black Friday. (I am well aware that they are gimped right now, its just to showcase the idea)
TL;DR
Balance prices. A guns/items price has to be determined by its DPS and overall usefullness, not its overall uselessness determined by the fact that everything costs the same now.
There, protostomping solved! "OP!!!!111" whining solved! |

Cost is not a balancing factor. |

It is. If you cant afford to **** out 10 heavies with ARs in a pubmatch, you wont do it.
If you cant afford logi LAVs being shot down in packs, you dont drive around in em reenacting Carmaggeddon.
If you cant afford losing that proto suit, you dont protostomp.
When I get out my sh!ttiest militia sniper rifle, and start hunting down protos, they simply dont give a flying f-¦ck. They keep coming and coming and coming like they got blueprints for that sh!t.
If the prices are balanced against each other, items being "OP" becomes a non-issue. |

Bad idea. Reason why ISK is nit a balancing factor; the people who **** with proto all day long are very rich and have very high KD/R. Even if prices were increased drastically those same people would still rock proto gear because for them it would still be generally profitable. In effect, your increase in price would serve only to make proto less viable for unskilled players.
This would just widen the gap and cause tear cups to runeth over.
TBF should it be a little more expensive? Once we integrate the economies I would love to see this. |

CCP at one point thought that price was a balancing factor. It was because of this that they introduced Supercarriers and Titans.
These two ships are stupid expensive and yet they are still somewhat prolific if you know where to look. |

Prices are only fixed until they connect the Dust market to the Eve market. Work on that, instead of trying to rebalance prices manually. Plain old supply and demand will take care of price balancing. |

Yeah, IIRC Supercarriers cost 20-30 billion for just the Hull and Titans cost 65+ billion for just the hull.
They still happen. |

I dont want proto not to exist, I want it to be hard to acquire. |
