I run the Caldari Assault C-1 suit with a GEK Assautl Rifle, Toxin Submachine Gun, and Packed AV grenades. I have 2 enhanced shield extenders, armor rep, and armor plates. I have about 365 HP in shields, and 212 HP in armor. I routinely 1v1 Assautl suits, and find them to be underpowered in these engagements compared to the beta builds of the game.
Just an observation that Prototype are not overpowered.
Oh and by the way, they are the highest tier suit out there - they are designed to be "beastly", if you will. That is why it costs 100k+ per fully fitted suit. |

You never said anything about the suits' meta lvl. And you said assault suits, correct? Did you mean the basic frames, or actual assaults, or logis? And if assaults or logis, what meta lvl were they? I've heard anything under proto is completely useless. And the assault suits aren't much better than the basic frames.

2. Yes, this is vs all types of Proto suits
It's about tactics and approaching situations without rushing into combat. As the other poster mentioned, many Proto's are over confident and feel that their suits make them unbeatable. Use that against them; lure them into situations where you have the upper hand. Even better: flank flank flank flank. I can't emphasize this enough - flanking, not running head first into combat, is the key to winning any situation. |

He is trying to tell you to forget your stats and wear the militia fits with pride. You are gonna get your butt kicked, but you need to choose between epeen stats and money.
Actually I'm trying to say you can beat them without the "fancy" gear with planning and tactics; just because you are losing to them now does not mean that they are overpowered. It could be that he is getting outplayed (which is what I tend to believe based on my own experience). |

The proto users aren't that powerful, in fact most of them are extremely overconfident and think they are impossible to defeat, it just takes some thought and tactics to take them out (I've seen some "top-notch" beta gunners who are in the top 50 go negative and/or have multiple deaths, just yesterday one of "best gunners" in the game had 5 deaths, no one is invincible).
To be fair, Reg is one of the best, and while I have successfully 1v1 him before, he succumbs the best tactics rarely. I've only seen him lose as many as 5 suits in a match once, and that was against a full squad of ZionTCD in an Ambush, and it was about 6 months ago.
EDIT: Yes, I am giving props to someone I normally wouldn't; this is probably because of his tutorial vidoes that shows he's not a complete ****.  |
