Yeah we know it's actually "pay to get ahead" But new guys don't know that. I've tried to get two ladies to play this game, and both were put off by the constant reminder of how sp they would have had if they had purchased a booster. come on guys.
That's two new recruits and two new demographic! I've played with these girls in socom, and vegas 2. But because you need to really and I mean really push for that arum. they got insulted and left. sigh.
I've mentioned it before on other threads. Get rid of how much SP you missed if you don't have boosters equipped!. I have 2 months of omega stacked on. but not everyone is gonna want to buy one. |

They aren't advertising at all right now. They know this game isn't good enough so they keep it hush hush for now. Which begs the question why release it if you know its not good enough. |

I think that what the OP want to say is that they "advertize" the boost on the end of match stats screen. where it say how much SP you would have done with a booster ON. not tv or internet ads.. |

No, EVE online launcher does not count.

There are adverts posted on the Eve Online launch window as well as some gaming sites. The thing is that is just limited. I haven't seen any TV adverts on it and I don't think there is going to be anything of the sort until Dust is mostly ready for mass marketing.
Also, don't bother trying to recruit players for the time being until most of the issues are resolved for the next month or two. I tell my friends about this game from time to time whenever we have a Halo night together, but I haven't pushed them yet into joining the game primarily because I know how incomplete it is at the moment. |

Title is more of a joke thing.
should made it more obvious. lol
I kinda meant that the showing of how much sp you would have had if you purchased a booster at the end of a match turns some people away from the game. I got boosters stacked to my character but some people who don't want to pay, also don't want to be reminded of how much they are missing out.
It's the reason why they left game.

Ofc, now that I said it, I'm not seeing any ads. There was a dust background on several wikis the last few weeks. |

How do you expect a company to sit back and not advertise simple, and cheap (20$ aint much, if you have a half decent income)
They are simple telling you how to improve as a player. |

And yes, that also includes Planetside 2. |

Your right. and one of the reason's why PS2 has that "pay to win" stigma.
But here's the thing as a fps, PS2 delivers. and sits with a good score among critics and users.
Dust514 does not. When your trying to get new players in, and your like hey... that awesome gun you want? 4 months buddy and it's yours. BUT get some boosters and its yours in 3 months.
Actually looking at it now... kinda is tough to pitch this game to new people. |

why would CCP advertise it?
if they have this huge deal with sony, the only thing sony provides is friggin promo.
they already have multiple promotional avenues in music, print, video, etc.
why else would they have done this deal if sony isn't going to kick in adver money (not real money, just "covering the costs of promo by using the avenues they already own which in turn lessens the overhead on the budget for CCP" type money) for it when they still haven't finished devving the game?
the fault is entirely sonys at this point.
but then again, last time they worked with a company on a fps...
she no turn out so good.
think that company is closed now? like... it got zipped up.
nyaaaaa
