1. Pub stomping corps. I have no issue if you want to squad up with your corp buddies and play a few rounds. But there those pub stomping corps that go full proto in pub matches when the vast majority of pub matches uses standard or militia gear and the ocassional advanced guy. Sometimes we all forget to check the match board when we are in the warbarge but it's not really necessary. If your team is getting owned by full on proto users then you are against a pub stomping corp.
2. Proto users. CCP had a good idea bringing in the academy battles. I like to go there and teach newberries what the game is all about. But when they tell me that the game is fun all that I can say to them is "you'll regret those words once you are out of the academy" or something familiar (not entiry that way). Once the newberries are out of the academy they get stomped on and chewed by the proto users in pub matches leading them to either quit or rage. Yes they can join a good corp but doing that won't help their militia or standard gear go against proto. CCP can do something Eve related to this issue you know? Like a Titan can't enter a high sec area. Proto users shouldn't be allowed to use proto gear in normal pub matches. Only in PC or FW. That will reduce the ammount of newberries and people trying to have fun get stomped by 6+ proto users on the enemy team while your team has standard and militia users.
Tip to people that want to spec into proto gear: Make sure the modules you have are complex or enhanced. Using basic modules on your proto suit will just scream "MORE ISK PAYCHECK" to those who see you.
3. LAVs Yes. But we all know how horrible (and somtimes funny cause of the stunts) LAVs were in Chromosome. Here, well, they fixed the handling by far better. But the logi LAV users were crying because there LAV was easy to destroy, mix that with tanks users crying the same thing and CCP added the vehicle buff. Now, tanks NEEDED that buff. Logi LAVs needed a little buff. But even before the buff people were miss treating the vehicles. For example: -Logi LAVs were trying to ran over people but since they were easy to destroy they were crying. Logi LAVs are supposed to provide support for their team. Not to go on running over people. I saw people using logi LAVs like that before and after the vehicle buff. Sad. Also free LAVs can make you more money then tanks. I'm sorry everyone but they need to go. They are free (so you don't care if you loose it), and they fill up the dropship role too. Why be on a dropship while I can just call in a free LAV and get there faster and safer?
-Some tanks are also being missed used. Just because you have a tank that doesn't mean you can go inside an enemy defended are and destroy all of them. Seriously. Tankers that do that are laughable and easy. To be honest I get mkre afraid by a tank circuling around the perimeter rather then berserkink inside a place. Also tankers that go inside a place "just because I have a tank means I should be able to destroy the whole team inside this area" need to think a little. You guys know that AV grenades are among enemy foot soldiers. Not to mention free swarms and 610 ISK forge guns are among them. IF you want to go in and don't want to die bring a squad to eliminate the AV soldiers but never go solo in a tank. Me, I drive a Soma with 5K armor. What I do is secure the perimeter around the base and when I want to go in I tell my friend to take out those AV soldiers. And if you are one the guys that follow this strategy I salute you because you are being mkre effective to your team and fully using the tank role right rather then spending all of the match in a hill sniping and doing nothing for your team or spending ISK because you think tanks are supposed to be indestructible.
4. Horribly placed installations and turrets everywhere Currently each map now has about 1 or 2 supply depots. Now I really hate being out of ammo and nanohives and in desperate need of a supply depot just to figure that the only supply depot in battle is inside an enemy controled area or an ******* blew it up just fof WP creepling the teams and needing to go to the spawn base and restock while I could have restocked on supplies in battle. We also have the badly placed and one sided CRUs. Yeah I know. But it's true. I hate how in Skim Junction in domination the north side (I think it's the north side) has an easy access to a CRU while the south side has to flank and leave the battle area just to capture it. I prefer to destroy CRUs because theyare currently a side preferring annoynces.
Turrets. They are placed EVERYWHERE! not to mention that now they have extreme tracking and can sboot down a dropship when the thing is at their spawn base. Also in Line Harvest they very badly placed. If you own the turret that over looks B in that map well the get prepared for massive kills. Some maps are loitered with turrets everywhere that it becomesannoying especially for a dropship pilot and tank driver. They are all better off destroyed. Of course this problem will go away once we can call down installations from above. But how long will that wait be? 2-3 years?
On a side note regarding the CRUs. The new five objective map, that map has a CRU in D and E (the objectives that are at the end of the bridge). K don't know why they are there but they are useless.
This are problems that are found and cripple the Uprising build. I don't know how will the other builds affect the game. In my opinion, Dust 514 should have stayed in beta stage until fall (when the new build is coming). Because, sadly, as of now Dust 514 doesn't feel any different from the beta. Only a graphic enhancement and the old mood settings that were found in the Precursor build before Chromosome except for the big moon one. |

5. Minimap. CCPis trying something with the minimap. I can say that the idea is unique but it is porely executed. Scouts should have low scanning profiles than medium/assault/logi And mediums shoud have lower scanning profiles than heavies. But no. Almost every suit has the samescanning radius and scanning profile. I can't count the many times I have been killed by a heavy that is behind me but since the scanning function in Dust is bad and broken, the heavy doesn't show up in my map. Somtime my scanners can pick uo a scout trying to sneak but not heavy trying to sneak. Also the layout of the minimap is bad and unprecise. Yes. It looks like a radar but we are using advance future suits. The militia variant of those suits can simply own our modern day military but yet we have a minimap that is layed out as radar? We should be able to see how the placed isayed out and when an enemy is behind a wall or infront of you. Technically I am saying that the minimap should be more like the minimaps in CoD and BF3 (I am getting myself prepared for the fanboys telling me to return to those games just because I compared the minimaps from those games with this game's one)
It could be layed out like a CoD or BF3 minimap while using the same scanning system. That way it would be less annoying and more understandable. |

Baal Roo wrote:OP is just listing symptoms.
The real problem is that there just isn't anything to do. There is such a laughably small amount of content, all corps can really do is run around pub stomping the same couple of maps. If there was actual game content, people might actually play it.
Lack of content is a mayor issue. If I were CCP I would have waited until fall to release the game. Honestly. Almost everyone was expecting this gane to be a fall release rather than a nearing summer release. Why? It's summer. Most people will be out of cluntry, at the beach, or at hotels. This game population will decrease in summer.
Honestly this game had more of a fall-winter release rather than a nearing summer release. Probably CCP triedto be clever with 514 releasing on 5-14 or Sony rushed them. |

1 and 2 are problems, but hopefully will be fixed. That said name me a game this doesn't happen in. CoD and BF have this problem just as much as DUST does.
You saying that LAVs running all over the map aren't an issue?
I guess you are one of 'em that drives LAVs to get kills.
Now turrets aren't tough to destroy but there are horribly placed CRUs that does not make sense. Why would I want a CRU right next to an objective? So the enemy can hack it and suddenly swarms of them keep popping out while you try to re-hack?
The turret problem is that all maps are loitered with them making it difficult for a drooship pilot to move troops around and provide some support fire for the team. |

Spkr4theDead wrote:The only problem with LAVs is that you can't bother yourself to blow them up. I sunk millions of skill points into vehicles to make mine better. I actually found a way to stop LAV spamming for a short time.
-Get someone that has speced into land mines -Put the land mines where the LAVs will pass through the most -Watch them blow up
Of course this will only work fkr a brief time. Especially if you decide to place the land mines in one place all the time. |
