Ok so like the subject asks what actions or non-actions put your blip on the radar? Is it only when you shoot is it when you sprint? How do I go about not showing up on that little enemy radar? |

The system is simple: - If you are in their dropsuit's passive scanning range and your scanning profile is larger than their scanning precision you appear on the radar. - If you get looked at you appear on the radar. - If you get scanned by an active scanner and your scan profile is larger than the scanner's scanning precision you appear on the radar. - There are no other ways to appear on their radar.
You can avoid avoid appearing on their radar by: - Staying far away from enemies. - Having a scan profile lower than their scan precision. - Not getting looked at. - Not getting scanned with an active scanner. - Having a lower scan profile than the scanning precision of an active scanner. - There are no other ways of not getting scanned.
Most importantly: Your scan profile isn't affected by your actions or your stance. You can sneak around crouching or ahoot an HMG at the sky, doesn't make a difference for scanners. |

Hmm ok thank you for the reply ... So it would be beneficial to try and lower my scan profile and as a noob I am sure that there is a module for that what would said module be called? Do you agree that it would be beneficial to not show up on enemy radar? What im questioning is I know that if im in a fire fight with someone and they duck behind a box I can still see which way they are going and I assume they see me if I lower my scan profile they wouldn't see me but I could still see them....correct |

The modules which decrease scan profiles are called "Profile Dampeners". There's also a skill for them under "Dropsuit Electronics". |

How effective is this in game? Do you have to heavily invest to not be seen by the average scanner? Or will the average suit see you unless you are in a scout suit loaded down with profile dampners? |

Right now it is very difficult to play as a stealth attacker. You can have a lot of success as a Scout but that's more on account of the suits maneuverability than anything else.
No matter how high your dampening skill, it only takes one guy to see you and you are spotted on everyones radar. Right now I feel it is a low priority investment.
I imagine much of this will change when cloaking comes in, even if the only thing it does is not allow one to be spotted on radar when seen. |
