Next time I will try to talk more "easy" so you can understand me. Do you need me to write you with big colors blocks? Maybe you need me to write you with a "letter soap". Learn the ABC first. Thank you. Cancel that confusion. I have taken my precribed meds for my mental disorder and your words now smell like wisdom. It now is clear why supporting someone who "punches a girl" is similiar to supporting CCP with Aurum. Without modern advances in medicine a person like me couldn't even communicate with someone of your mental prowess. I think you ment "soup" not "soap". It sounds like you may have had your mouth washed with some form of soap as a child. P.S. I heard that can be tough on a developing brain. Thank you. Next time, we can talk in spanish if you want so I won't have a lot of mistakes. Es mas facil para mi puesto que es mi idioma natal, pero tampoco me hago mucho problema en escribir en ingles. Asique, todo bien de cualquier forma

You think with revenue of 65 mil that CCP is rolling in cash? What were their expenses? How much did Sony give them? How much does it cost to make a game like this?
I thought about digging into it a little but overall it's not really important.
This is a side project amongst many that is self funded by a cash positive company in existence for over 10 years.

The better the game gets, the more AUR i will buy... Maybe you guys should do the same. How much Aurum would it take for you to be willing to punch my sister? The stomach or face region is the only "area" that counts. Like i say, i don't want Dust 514 to die... But i also don't want CCP to think, that i'm happy with how the game is at the moment.
I was seriously talking about punching my sister.
I am just fine with people (including myself) supporting this game by purchasing aurum. |

I would speculate that DUST is being created with a fairly limited budget by a team that is doing their first FPS shooter. Most of the lead developers came from the EVE team and are now leading a team in Shanghai. It's not like they are an experienced team rehashing an old shooter for the fifth time. Charging $60 for the same mechanic with slightly updated graphics.
After some quick Google research it looks like it costs at least $20 mil and up for a shooter but the big games are quickly going over $100 plus marketing.

I'd be surprised if CCP was able to spend over $20 mil for DUST but honestly have no idea how much was spent. Half of DUST development is integrated with EVE so its probably hard to figure anyway.
CCP also likes to release early and iterate based on user feedback. We could wait another two years for DUST to be released in a nice shiny state and it could be complete crap. Instead, they tried their best to get it into a fairly stable but minimal state and release it for feedback from their community.
I talk to developers. Anybody can talk them and get responses, especially if what you write to them is well written and constructive. I tell them what I'm not happy with and usually the answer is that they are not happy with the same thing and they are either working on it or having more important issues to resolve first. The want your feedback and will respond if you are not a jerk about it.
So, I will continue to spend money on this game. It not only has potential but I honestly enjoy playing the game every day. I like being part of something that is still growing and evolving. I like being able to affect the direction it is going by providing feedback. I like supporting developers that not only listen to me but take the time to respond when they aren't busting their asses trying to deliver. |

I don't think i'll be renewing any more boosters including the passive ones after this one. Certainly won't be buying aurum until things change.
I do think things will change. But the lack of transparency and the inability of CCP to communicate outside of the IRC channel and to us the players is awful. The CPM seem to be completely ineffectual and honestly this idea of a middle man between the devs and us seems ridiculous.
Just talk directly to us here on the forums.
Not to the CPM and then hope they will tell us what's going on. |
