I've been a loyal follower since the emergence of the closed beta, and now that it is supposedly 'released', I am going to say now: this game isn't fun.
This game is boring, the graphics suck and the shooter aspect is rubbish. I have no way to get involved with Planetary Conquest and all of that so the 'strategic' aspect is eliminated for me. This game is so bad. The controls are clunky and it is just frustrating. I am now literally ripping the plug out in certain instances because there is nothing good to do at all. It is just a waste of time and I can NOT see this game surviving a year longer. A game this deep was never meant for consoles, and CCP needs to learn that a shooter isn't the same thing as an MMORPG. 70% of the customers will probably never even touch PC, and they will only want to shoot. And the shooting sucks right now.
CCP, improve it, now... It is the release, the bad reviews should be an indicator to get your act back together.
This game will not be 're-reviewed' in 5 years when this finally gets good, people will always refer back to the release review and they will not want to play, and even when they do, they will be blown right out because everyone is so much more experienced than them.

Dust is fantastic, you know why? Because you can take a 6-12 month break (while devs fix this problems) and come back to spend millions of SP.

Just found out that there is a weekly limit to SP, i hit this cap and stopped playing, since the progression aspect was obviously more motivating than the actual gameplay. I started my PC and played TF2, which was more fun from a pure FPS gameplay perspective.
So while i understand that the cap is to limit advancement, its becomes simply unmotivating to continue playing DUST if i cant even unlock/progress better stuff. Why is there no SP plateau ? Means allow quick gathering of like 3-5Mill SP and start limiting from there on. This way i can catch up to all those proto guys, without having to wait and put the game on and off based on this arbitrary SP Cap system.
The progression is fine and motivating, going from 5-10k SP per match to 1k and having to wait for a "reset" is not motivating! Play to your strengths CCP, thats progression and equipment, obviously not "perfect" FPS gameplay! |

I would give some if I had some positive feedback. But the only good stuff is the potential of new equipment, maps and features. Right now it is genuinely a game riddled with bad stuff, I simply cannot compliment CCP when the state of their game is like this... |

Releasing the game too soon was their biggest blunder so far. Most of the stuff you'd expect to be in the release we won't be seeing for another 6 to 12 months down the timeline. They should have waited to release after another build or two.
That said, I still really enjoy this game. So to each his own. I bought the Battlefield 3 premium back just before I paid $20 to get into the Dust closed beta and I haven't even touched BF3 or the expansions I bought since. I'm fully willing to wait for CCP to straighten things out and I fully expect they will... Eventually. |

Even as a beta TF2 was a pure joy. Some obvious issues, but things were mostly a question of balance, tweaks and a big of a bug hunt. Even if you weren't a fan of the game you had to admire it's a approach to the genre through it's retro theme.
On release things were done quickly on the PC because the whole Steam platform supported it. It's that kind of constant release credibility that opened the door for it to of F2P.
Dust however is just the classic missed opportunity of this gaming generation. |

I disagree, the reason why the game is not fun, is because is not a MMORPG. When i first hear about Dust 514, what got me interested and exited, was the FPS-MMORPG idea... now is just a broken, unfinished FPS game with "some" RPG components.
Dust 514 was supposed to be the first "Real" MMORPG for consoles, not this sad excuse for a FPS that we have right now. |

You can always make contacts in different corporations and act as a ringer or you could start your very own corporation or join a already existing one.

Exactly. Useful feedback isn't riddled with subjective babbling. Be specific. Don't say "it sucks". It does nothing. It says nothing. Don't say "This game is NOT fun". What about it isn't fun? You didn't say anything. You just said a bunch of nothing. Instead of saying a bunch of words that end up accumulating to nothing but vague nonsense, actually say something. It helps.

Well, they would silence criticism.. except this post has no constructive criticism. It says a bunch of nothing. They locked a thread several days ago that said, almost, the same as the OP. Except, the one that was locked had more swearing and anger associated with it. OP's post does nothing to help make the game better. Just the usual "it sucks" as if that, somehow, helps.

Because it never was supposed to be JUST a FPS...The Shooter game should be an integrated part, of the MMORPG core game..In other words, we playing an AAA FPS game... that should be a FPS-MMORPG game, the end result is what we have now;

This could solve the issue that people feel excluded from "the real thing", I like it.
And I apologize if my post came out too bluntly, I'm just saying that single man can't make that much of a difference without a job board of sorts being implemented Soon(Gäó?)
I became a EVE "loyalist" after I played Dust ;)
And I'm more of a CCP fanboy than a loyalist :P |
