Are Proto Weapons Worth it?

I was in the market place and saw that proto weapons only do a little more damage than the regular versions. Also the accuracy rating was a little higher on proto weapons. Is the accuracy rating really important? Should I just stick with regular weapons and make a super suit with my SP?

The reason people run mlt gear with proto weapons is because they are happy with their weapon but are waiting for the correct suit i.e caldari heavy, amrr scout... This is very wise because they didnt want to spend all their SP in like last build. I personally am unhappy theres another respec but hopfully there wont be any more so tht when the caldari heavy comes out im the only one using proto gear for it ;)

They really aren't worth it in pub matches at all. It will maybe be 1 less hit to kill. Certain exceptions include snipers, forge guns and mass drivers.

At lvl 5, you also can start putting skills into proficiency, boosting your damage. But if you don't have at leave a adv suit and complex shields, don't get a proto weapon. It's just a waste.
