It is a Blaster and should be called one, ditch the "combat rifle" or what ever the minmatar version is supposed to be called and call it the "Assault Rifle"
It fits the lore better. |

How about we wait until they release all weapons and balance them before they start renaming the very few weapons we have.

I would be in favor of renaming it to "Blaster Rifle." Calling it the Assault Rifle leads to people jumping on it without much thought, giving less diversity on the battle field. |

Every trace of the old name within the database has to be changed accordingly, otherwise you get nice things like skills not working, unbuyable/equipable guns and other weird behaviour like disconnects or even corrupted databases if someone really screws up. And really screwing up is as much as a single typo.
On topic: It should get a fancy blaster name but there should be something that groups it with the other racial AR variants so that everyone knows that it's a blaster and an AR. |
