After a lot of deliberation I'm going to stick with Minmatar suits after the respec. Probably one of the biggest staying points was the possibility of running a ninja brawler. This includes five high powered slots for complex melee mods and two complex profile dampeners for a nearly invisible profile signature. Adding on a decent active scanner onto this build turn it into a fast, seek and destroy unit with fists--the guns with unlimited ammo.
My only questions are how much melee damage would such a build really run? Does the power grid and cpu sustain such a fit?
I know that there's a stacking penalty on melee stims; however, I'm not sure how strong. The suit has a base melee damage of 110hp. Each complex stim adds base 50% + 50% module efficacy per level 5 proficiency level.
A rough guestimate would place the damage at +300hp per tap. Can anyone provide numbers to back this up? |

Arx Ardashir wrote:The fitting tool provided by hydraSlav says that if you run 2 enhanced dampeners and 4 complex mybrofils with 1 enhanced (for more cpu), you can run with a sidearm (so that the fit is valid) and get 356 damager per hit on a Minmatar proto basic medium frame. Possibly with all skills at level 5. Not too sure what the skills are on the fitting tool, and also not concerned enough to check (sorry).
Regardless, I really appreciate the speedy reply. |

I don't know the answer, but I'm running a winmatar scout with nova knives right now. No need for melee damage mods if you're using nova knives.
The trade up with melee is not having to worry about a charge up. Also if you applied this to a logistics fit, you'd have a potential capacity for carrying several types of remote explosives which don't cancel each others' deployment capacity. As far as I know, you can hit people with remote explosives drawn. Essentially, you prime a corner or choke-point, then sneak up on and bash a raspberry. If that fails, or several of his friends see you, book it toward your trap like the speedy minmatar you are and detonate if they enter the 'burn zone.' It works wonders for 'heavy' hunting.
Really, I'm just thinking off the top of my head here. |

I do realize there are two attack modes with Nova Knives. Do you know if the charge multiplies the base damage and if each Knife distributes the base damage? For the latter question, say a proto Nova Knife does 200hp damage, is the actual damage 200hp or is it 400hp with two knives? That's my confusion with them. |

While playing around with a test build I noticed two very important features of melee attacks. 1. Strict melee attacks do not appear to damage shields 2. A melee strike consumes parts of your stamina.
Nova Knives do not appear to face these hiccups. |
