Free respecs and SP refunds are only happening now because of specific problems CCP has made with the game. In EVE, you may have trained Citadel Torpedoes up to use on your Naglfar, which used to use both Capital Projectiles as well as Citadel Missile Launchers. When the Naglfar was changed so that it only used Capital Projectiles for balancing (making it a better ship), did CCP refund the SP to the people who trained Citadel Missiles? No.
Because what you decide to put your SP into is supposed to leave a permanent mark on your career. I have wasted SP on my EVE character by half training certain skills that I later decided "Wait, I don't want that, actually" and started training something else.
Does it suck? Kinda. Is it gonna change? No.
Are you going to deal with it? That's what's up to you. |

Everybody talks about how fantastic Eve is. I dont care 2 ***** about Eve. I care about Dust. Hardcore MMO mechanics in a FPS game, is fine. But you cant go around stealth nerfing skills because CCP messed up the Balancing, and then refuse respecs/reimburstment. I dont give a **** what you think. If you like getting raped over the internet, be my guest, but i am not paying for a game ,that secretly tries to do me over in a patch. And nullifies my time put in this game. Litteraly wasting it. I seem to recall DUST being free to play. Or did you buy yours from your local Gamestop?
You don't have to care about EVE, but the game is part of its universe and it's GOING to affect you, whether you like it or not. Now I'm not saying the skill respec isn't deserved this time. I'm not saying that CCP doesn't have a LOT of work to do with the skill system. I'm not saying I'm happy with the way everything is in the game right now.
All I'm saying is that you're just gonna have to be patient and quit with the whining. The respec is coming just hold your horses and wait. It's better than them NOT giving you the respec, isn't it? Which is what I was alluding to? |

Which is what I was alluding to? DUST is supported by micro transactions, and yes I have baught a few things on DUST.... So have many others. By microtransactions and EVE subscriptions. This game is taking away a lot of money from effort that could be going into making EVE even better, and you should realize that a lot of people who play EVE hate this game simply because it exists. Then there are those like me who find pleasure and potential with both. And then there are those like "Infekti0n" who only like DUST.
It's fine to not care about EVE. But your game is supported by OUR game. 500,000+ at 14.99 per month > 3,000 people paying for a few active/passive boosters in DUST. If you paid for anything in DUST, that's your business. But the game is still free to play at the end of the day, it doesn't force you to pay a cent to play it. I, too, have put some money into the game. And I, too, have a lot of issues with it. I'm just way more willing to wait and "go with the flow" than some of the rest of you, it seems.
Just because the game is officially "released" doesn't mean it's really released. There's still racial dropsuits missing, weapons missing, etc. You better believe people on EVE would throw a ****fit if CCP announced a new battleship vessel, but only released it for the Amarr, with the rest to come "soon". But EVE is far more established at this point and it's a game CCP knows well. This is their first shooter, and honestly a lot of their problems with the skill system come from wanting to make it different from EVE's, just so it's different. They don't have any real reasons, they just want it "different to be different". Now in some cases it makes sense, it's far simpler in DUST to "progress" whereas in EVE you can have lots of small per-requisites for ships and modules. Dust excels in its simplicity in the skill department.
But in large part a lot of the skills are broken and need fixing. Your respec is coming, just hold out for it. I'm 1.5 million SP short from passive gaining because I couldn't play the game between January 10th and March. And CCP has basically flat out told me "Too bad, we aren't gonna do anything about it, you missed the chance to get reimbursed".
Does it suck? Yes. Did I quit the game, threaten to quit, whine about it, etc? No. Because it's not the end of the world, it's a game. |

Icarus Eldred wrote: I didn't read all of this because you make assumptions..... I play EVE..... pay for 3 accounts. And again I point out, this is about customer service, not game mechanics. CCP have already admitted people deserve respecs, we're not discussing that here. I'm saying why the hell am I waiting when I don't have too? Surely it would of been cheaper to do the respec how I suggested, therefore not taking away from DUST or EVES production.....
Think about what your posting and what you know before you make another post and I promise I'll take it seriously....
And to give just one example of your whining, and how it's not well thought out. DUST's production team is completely different to EVE's. The same people who have been working on EVE still are.... New people were drafted in for DUST and although some people work on both games, they seem to be focused on how DUST effects EVE.... which seems pretty EVE focused to me.....
Actually, I specifically mentioned "Infekti0n" who said he doesn't care about EVE, I did not mention you. And if you already play EVE, you should already know that CCP is always right when it comes to support tickets. And people have already answered the question on why you're waiting for a respec. The rest of the skill tree changes weren't at the time, and aren't fully implemented yet. The respec comes after, that way they aren't giving you two respecs in two weeks because they updated the skill tree twice.
And I'm not whining about DUST taking money from EVE. Like I've already previously stated, I enjoy both games. Also, the comments I made about the money from EVE going into DUST came AFTER you said I was whining, so you're getting mixed up here. And my point still stands that DUST is taking money from EVE because all of CCP's income was generated by EVE subscriptions (and slightly more recently a teeny amount by Aurum for stupid clothes). Then CCP began work on DUST, up to and including hiring a development team. Now unless the Developers also work for free, then DUST was drawing cash in from EVE's success. That money could have been used to hire more programmers, artists, etc. for EVE, to create more teams to get more work done in the same time frames. But they picked DUST.
Am I fine with that? Yeah, I love DUST. I was talking about OTHER players of EVE. The ones who hate DUST and will never give it any love. |

The question was, why am I waiting when I don't have too, especially considering it has effected to quality of the product?

Well nobody can tell you why CCP didn't implement all the skill changes except for themselves, and perhaps CPM? You're probably just better off asking them directly. |
