Players relations is important for corporations' development than battles themselves, communication, real-world hierarchy simulation. This steps are those that will make this game more credible. More complex corporation hierarchy. Why don't you introduce creation of character engine that we use in EVE? This suits portraits make us equal; no difference, no personality just a drop suit picture, I think people agree. Yes corporate tax and PC are good ones but they are just systematical changes. Open world market where to sell and to buy actions, obligations, equipment even corporations could be just huge place for interaction. If someone borrowed money from you or your corporation and can't pay the debt up-date you are in full rights to request corporation or belongings of the players. If player/s don't obey they get into prison. And then your friends or/and corp-members can launch an attack on a prison or just pay ransom. Why not? Districts that posses prison, where you must protect prison and inmates within and not the district from the attack. I have lately told that an orbital station infiltration or Titan infiltrations would be a great ideas for missions as events and would affect EVE players as loss of their equipment or temporary unavailability. Rome wasn't built in a day... but many days have passed already.
If I can refer you to the Dust Fiction developed about the game, you have been given a generic clone body...it is cheaper for the empire to provide you with a clone that is identical to all your brothers, but hey at least you still have your own unique voice still.

A clone is a clone is a clone, so if you want to be in a non-stock clone first imagine the cost of dying on the battlefield, then think about how it works in eve. If you die in eve you need to pay the clone cost before getting killed again. Someone with an eve clone who doesn't pay the cost and gets killed loses sp from their top level skills first (I think its 10%) so being able to fly your Tengu or being able to fit a T2 module may not be possible anymore should you forget to upgrade your clone. If we were doing it this way in Dust you would die, pay for your clone or not, respawn. If you didn't pay and got killed again (they can't possibly be that lucky a shot twice) then your Lv5 skills would be affected, Why can't I use my Duvolle? would likely be a common QQ on the forums. Now add to that the cost of your clone death, although 100,000isk doesn't seem like a whole lot in Eve but in Dust it could bankrupt a player if they died 5 times (which is not a very high death count) would cost 500,000 isk in clone upgrade cost, plus the cost of their suit we'll say around 200,000isk x5 = 1,000,000 isk+ 500,000 isk = 1,500,000 isk - 439,000 isk (reward from battle assuming 2400 wp) = 1,061,000 isk lost in a battle that the player fought with great success.
I believe the numbers speak for themselves, enjoy the afterlife in a generic clone body. |
