I understand why the Heavies cannot jump very well. However, I do not understand what prevents us from being able to "climb" over a waist-high barricade at the cost of some stamina.
I cannot count the number of times I was killed, or failed to successfully defend an Objective simply because I had no choice but to take the long way around.
A perfect example:
The three point map that used to be Manus Peak (not sure if the name changed) when spawning at Objective B (when it has the tall buildings) many times I will spawn right next to a building, but instead of being able to just climb the barricade on the edge of the buildings platform, I have to hobble my fat suit all the way around to the ONE ramp that leads down to the ground. Many times this makes the difference between being able to save the objective, or losing it.
CCP, can we please have something like this implemented. |

SATAN'S PRODIGY wrote:Yes, this need to be fixed by CCP. I hope they add it to their very long "to be fixed list." Also, my Heavy has not been able to hop over things that are lower than waist high. =Very poor, indeed.
Yea I really find it strange and disproportionate that assaults/scouts/logis can hop around like bunnies, bounce over my head to the distance of a CRU's length, hop around so fast I can't even get them back in screen to defend myself once they start jumping over my head again and again and again and again and again, while strafing(where do they get all that stamina I thought jumping really took a good chunk) while [trying to] shotgun blasting me.
They can perform all of these amazing Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus acts, but I cant jump up onto a knee high platform, and if I try to more than once I will have no stamina left to [try] to get away from the incoming Tac AR fire!

D legendary hero wrote:heavies probably shouldnt be jumping like that. our jumping is fine.
we really need to having a vaulting option in here, so when we encounter a ledge we can actually participate in the game. so, either a. make use jump hire even at increase stamina usage -OR- b. make us vault objects.
i mean really what solder cant hop a picket fence?
I'm not asking to let heavies jump like the other classes I was pointing out that if you consider the other classes jumping abilities compared to ours it seems drastically disproportionate. (They can jump a CRU but we can't jump a knee high ledge?)

What about that sounds indecisive?

CCP, can we please have something like this implemented. Auto jump over fence through animation "BF-style" has been asked for a long time. So has been proning or other moves like sliding. It would nice to have something like that implemented but in my opinion it is far from being on top of the needlist for Dust 514. Beside, Heavies, or Armor based infantry in general do need to be less agile than a shield oriented or scout soldier. I guess if animations are implemented, they would still keep an advantage as they could just jump and save time compared to other suit. So wouldnt be a problem. Bottom line, yes it would usefull. But the "coding time required\priority" ratio isnt that interesting at the moment.
I fully understand there is much more important things CCP is currently working on, this is simply something to keep on the back burner. I know if I do not voice an idea when it occurs to me, I may well forget it completely. |
