SUMMARY: Mouse movement is much smoother, and also experiences less sideways jitter, however, It is literally impossible to aim or hip fire at fast moving dropsuits from 0 - 20m ranges. If I were to move my mouse fast enough to track such a target, I would cross the reverse acceleration threshold and the game would DECREASE the speed at which my in-game reticule moved.
Let me elaborate
Prior to the patch Mouse: Razer Naga Epic DPI: 4000 Polling: 1000 Mouse sensitivity: 100 Mouse smoothing: off Controller sensitivity: 100%, 100% Aim Assist off: Mouse movement to accomplish 360' hip fire: 4-5 inches (varied according to suit type) ADS degree of movement in 4 inches: 180' approximately Quickly moving the mouse 4-5 inches hip fire: 270' of movement Quickly moving the mouse 4-5 inches ADS: 120' of movement
After latest patch Mouse: Razer Naga Epic DPI: 5600 Polling: 1000 Mouse sensitivity: 100 Mouse smoothing: off Controller sensitivity: 100%, 100% Aim Assist off: Mouse movement to accomplish 360' hip fire: 11 - 14 inches (light = 11, medium = 12, heavy = 14) ADS degree of movement in 11-14 inches: 80' Quickly moving the mouse 11-14 inches hip fire: 90' of movement Quickly moving the mouse 11-14 inches ADS: 30' of movement
The fact that the mouse sensitivity is over 3x less sensitive (even though DPI has been increased) is a huge nerf to the mouse. I could adjust to this nerf if input remained constant at 1:1 irregardless of the speed of the mouse input. Reverse acceleration creates an absolute impossibility: At close ranges the mouse cannot be moved fast enough to track fast moving targets. In fact, the faster you try to move the mouse, the worse the situation becomes.

Nerfing the keyboard and mouse was a hilariously bad idea. Did not affect the top players much at all. |

My mouse has the ability to apply internal acceleration to its input and so I started testing mouse acceleration's impact on DUST's reverse acceleration. Every other game this value is set to 0, but at 100, I can notice a slight reduction in DUST's reverse acceleration penalty.
I've also tried a XIM Edge, but currently, KB/M with XIM is worse than built-in KB/M support (or maybe I haven't found the apporpriate settings).
Anybody else have any ideas on what I can do to increase the KB/M performance? |

I completely agree with the OP. Now when I move my mouse slowly, I look around very quickly. However, when moving my mouse quickly, I look around very very slowly.
The mouse is completely broken. |
