Just because a single gun was banned from an MLG tournament doesn't mean CCP will get a bright idea and look at the TAR and realize that it needs to be nerfed...
In any case, has anyone mentioned clip size? Rate of fire is high yes, but some players are good at firing fast. Damage is supposed to be high because it's supposed to hit hard at a longer range. but I think we need to do something different.
I know hip fire was mentioned. Make the tac rifle have an aim box at the hip the same size or slightly smaller than the sniper rifle. That way it's difficult to use in close combat.
And my idea, reduce clip size and max ammo. Half it and it should be fine. They only need 12 shots anyways. |

It all boils down to the modded controllers.
Dust can learn from the Halo series and setup a limiter by simply having the gun fire as fast as the animation allows rather than as fast as the trigger can be pulled. The Covenant Carbine and UNSC DMR are perfect examples of tactical assault rifles with limiters. This feature is what made modded controllers absolutely useless in the Halo series because the animations of the Covenant Carbine and the UNSC DMR couldn't process any faster than about 2-3 shots per second while most modded controllers can go as far as 15 shots per second.
I'm surprised that Call of Duty never learned from this despite the benefits of imposing such an animation-based limiter. Dust could learn from this. |

I'm not really sure why more DEVs don't just break each shot with an animation to limit the number of shots you can fire in succession to a reasonable amount or limit certain movements just enough to break the advantage of secondary jump/prone button mods.
This isn't a new issue, it has been coming up over and over for years and years but DEVs seem to be trapped in an almost tard level of neivte over it to the point in some cases of denying it is possible at all. |

It might destroy the TAR and then you will have a nerfed TAR that noone uses and everyone just training Minny ARs instead. |

Dumb. Only idiots would ban a in game gun over banning the modded controllers themselves. Simple solution, take the screws out for MLG play. |

This is where all the big shots (who are not busy pubstomping) are playing. And if you look around, you will notice that they are all using the TAC, just like the MLG players. |

The result was that players were essentially forced into using this gun over all others, and that makes the game pretty boring. And it's not super exciting when all players essentially have an instant death beam at their disposal. |

Totally! The damage doesn't bother me, just half the clip size and it will mean you need skill to use it effectively.
