SECTOR 8
Does this game look similar? Look at the video and how the aiming tho not perfect, is still a lot better than dust. The game could be called dust grand daddy is nails on a lot of the FPS mechanics. heavy "feel" but without the downgrade to aim. No falling through floor or getting stuck at rock.
and for the PVE loving carebares here, SECTION 8 HAD AI BOTS!! DRONES! Your half a team? DRONES TO THE RESCUE! Smart drones. other then KZ2, and arma the AI was very good in here.
Too similar to give dust a pass for how it did it's FPS. You guys are playing SECTOR 8 now. just called dust. Did someone say exo-skeleton? yup.
I'm posting this up, to see what along with other "complete" FPS games core mechanics can be twicked to give Dust more complete FPS feel. Keep the meta and lore for the eve mmo guys in dust. but KEEP the game play FPS. And a good FPS.
I've stocked piled in omega boosters. I might take a break from dust, but I know I'll check back. and hopefully dust would have gotten it's **** together as a FPS EVE GAME. What? you think I trust you guys to watch the ladies for me? greedy cheeky monkeys. I'll be back, if I do leave. For the ladies of course. Hi ladies.

That would be Section 8. I have it and the stand alone DLC that came out Section 8: Prejudice or whatever. Really good game, never got the attention it should have. I think it lacked reliability. The co-op mode was just so much fun though. |

Section 8 definitely looks a lot like Dust 514. If you only look at the infantry part of the video then you might be able to trick someone into thinking it was a Dust video from the closed beta era. If you take out the jet packs, super sprint, and giant robots then it looks like a carbon copy of Dust 514 when it comes to game play. I have never heard of Section 8, but I definitely see the comparison. |

I've always said this since Precursor......... DUST is just MAG w/ less Objectives, Section 8 w/ less Function, StarHawk w/ less RTS, & Battlefield w/ less Flash. Inertia Dampener is just a less used Carbon Copy of Section 8 (You can kill Infantry & damage Installations w/ it in Section 8). The "Dash" in Section 8 is just here in the form of Speed Mods. MAG has Emo Tears when it saw Domination in DUST..... Battlefield says Skirmish 1.0 should be in PC (As does MAG Interdiction). StarHawk says future plans of getting Warbarge Installation Drops belongs to them (Also Jetpacks & better Mechs). Still waiting on that Chat Separation ala MAG tho.....would be nice (CO, SL, & Squad Chats). |

I believe one of the aiming benefits was that your rounds actually tracked the enemies if you "got a lock" on them. It was like aim assist and bullet assist combined. Was a very good game.

I've played Section 8 and good god was that game a piece of crap in how ludicrously long it took to kill someone, stupidly high amounts of HP for everything. That's just my take on it, though. It was a cool concept and nifty visuals and gameplay, just absurd durability.
S8P though was drastically better... Now that's a fun game. |

This was section 8 "sequel" Again, it would be great to have a Assassinate the enemy team leader game mode here.
EDIT: might wanna do something about the MCC AFKing for that mode first. Otherwise match could go like this

Imp is in mcc.

EVE got ****** reviews when it was new. 10 years later with consistent and constant growth, people take it a lot more seriously. It'll be a few years before DUST really comes into its own. In its current state, it's not even done and should still be in beta, IMO. |

Just for comparison, I looked back at their reviews for that "unknown" mech game (Section 8), which scored almost 50% higher than Dust. If heads aren't rolling at CCP, they should be. If everyone is standing around acting like they have a cape and a big S on their chest (which is the reaction I perceive), then save your Aurum fellas - the legal team will not be able to recoup your funds. |

Yeah... i'm sock with the comparison too..Section 8 have to be one of the worst games i had ever played . Yet every one is linking the two games together like is a "Good" thing. To don't mention, that Dust 514 is not where near as complete as Section 8 was... which adds to the Puzzle ...I will be ok with Dust 514 been a better version of Section 8.. BUT IS NOT. |

honestly CCP should fire every single person who is on the development team for spending 3 years to develop this game and hire the people who made section 8 prejudice game in 18 months for 3 platforms
I know this is extreme but I feel like the idea of dust 514 can have a the same impact as games like doom or halo. the problem is the game is very buggy and has a lack of options it is basically like like battlefield or call of duty. you should reskin section 8 prejudice and make it dust there are a couple of things you would have to make in order for it to work but right now that is a better game and it came out 2 years ago.
for everyone who said section 8 was crap Section 8 prejudice has supposedly fixed alot of the issues that were wrong with the original (I never played the Original Section 8). in comparison to dust it is a little easier to play. Dust 514 has better graphics, and dropsuit customization which leads to better survivabilty howver section 8 prejudice has better guns and more customization to the guns. The DCM or Dynamic combat missions make it feel like it you are doing something different every single battle not to mention without any dlc there are 3 different planets that affect your dropsuit differentIy (currently on dust we are fighting on the same planet over and over). I personally would love to see CCP flatout hire the developers for this game and reskin it to fit in the dust lore. Since I downloaded and played this game for the last 2 days I been sitting here playing it like why couldn't dust be more like this. Even with its outdated graphics. |
