FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - A Tour of Eorzea http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JQ87KtH1G8
if you pre order, you will get into the last beta and early access, and your xp ,stats, gear, gill and all other goodies will carry over to release. I will be doing videos on this and have lined up several youtubers that have been playing this to open a community link shell (corp) in game and make goo gobs of videos together...gome join me, it will be great....the game that is :)
If you like cross platform MMORPG, than this is the one....Well there is only one cross platform MMORPG and that is Final fantasy 11, and now this.
Not sure if DC universe counts *scratches head* |

The way Square-Enix have been going south as of late, this might really be their Final Fantasy.
Link to slides.
Key takeaways:
- -Ñ13.7 billion loss this last fiscal year. You might remember their last estimate was a -Ñ10 billion loss.
- They're going to spend less on development per game than ever before. This means more on mobile and more social games, while they get more control over their HD console development costs. This is partly expected at the end of a console's lifetime, but this muddies the waters considerably for titles people still expected to see this gen (Versus).
- They're going to focus on regional development (Read: If a game isn't expected to sell well outside of Japan forget about it). In other worse, lol Type 0, and more focus-group tested titles from Eidos IPs.
- Layoffs and a clamp down on years in development is a given.
- Lots and lots of restructuring up and down the development pipeline. See above about layoffs.
- Spend more on marketing. Don't forget they threw their sales and marketing under the bus for Hitman and Tomb Raider not hitting their projections. They are promising more frequent, more in-detail updates released to consumers rather than force them to wait years between vague non-news sentences burped out by Nomura. Sound familiar? They promised this in 2010.

Note that the target revenue next to the FFXIV tweet is for company wide operating income, not just the revenue from one title (because that would be stupid).

You really have to wonder if they have any unnanounced HD titles to show at E3 or at their separate, private conference. It might just be 2 hours of Thief 4 and XIV ARR footage.
Edit: No, DCUO doesn't count because the PC and console clients are segregated. It's like they don't want money or something. |

In all honesty, the first version of ff14 online failed, as we all know. They lost tons of money and years of work on that project. They decided to continue with it, rebuild the game, and invest more into it, in which they have. I am hoping it is a fun game, in which if it is anything like ff 11 online, it will be great. If not, I guess I can always go back to playing Dust full time :) |

Yea, I was a die hard final fantasy gamer. Played them all until 10, then it went straight down from there.
I switched from FF to Dark Souls. its a better series now. The story in DS is much darker and harder to discover. Its more interesting also.
Kings Field Kings Field 2 Kings Field 3 Demon's Souls Dark Souls Dark Souls 2
However, I still play FF5, 6 and 7 occassionally. |

In fact, it was such a bomb it held back production on highly anticipated games like Deus EX. They have the producer that made FF11 awesome in the past few years working on 14 now so supposedly it'll be better. Worse case, SE won't go away anytime soon. They're literally a Final Fantasy VII remake away from getting out of the red. It's like they don't want money or something.
(If you haven't noticed from the name, that's my favorite out of the series) |

Look, FF Vii HD is a liscence to print $$. Thats all it is. They haven't used it. Do you think a game company that keeps making bad games that don't work and lose money instead of making a game that just sits there all day printing $$$ by the truckload is a company with a future? No, neither do it. |

You may be right! I think that in this day in age the trend is to just pull the plug on a company before it goes belly up. In all fairness SE has a good team, and I would hate to see the plug pulled. |
