With the 1 million SP I had extra I spec'd into the Caldari logistics vehicle. At first I used it as everyone else did by running over everyone; which turns out to be a lot of fun. Let me clear up a few misconceptions for you all.
To actually heal other vehicles you need to add the module that allows you to repair vehicles all starting logistic LAVs have the ability to repair friendly infantry.
I do not know the max amount of people you can lock, so far I have locked the other 5 members of my squad. I believe you can lock onto even more.
You select the actual repair tool as you would a shield booster. Once selected your crosshair turns into a free camera mode type thing allowing you to move around the vehicle to select a target. (You do this by holding down the aim button) There is a small lock on time before you lock onto your first guy.
This is where it gets bad. Once you have your initial lock on the camera is stuck infront of the vehicle. So any other person who you want to lock onto needs to be infront of the vehicle.
In addition you can not lock onto a group of people. Only one person at a time this takes considerable time.
Once you are locked on you press the fire button and it starts repairing the infantry guy. (Shield or armor)
A couple of weird things I did notice. There are times in which the person in the logi vehicle needs to have line of sight (LOS) with the person he is repairing. Also the camera needs to be looking at that person. This leads to problems with multiple people running around. ANY sort of blockage between you and the player results in loosing a lock. Terrain a small hill and the lock is lost. The only way to relock this individual is to turn off the logistics vehicle and recycle the repair/shield transport. This is a bad idea you should be able to relock without having to unlock everyone else.
A couple of fixes that I have for the vehicle.
One - A timer for the infantry member once he goes around a corner or is obstructed by terrain to the logistics vehicle. Say a 3 second timer where it shows on the persons screen being repaired. With this he knows when he is out of range or not being healed. If he comes back within range or LOS to the logi then the lock is not lost and the repairs are still continued.
Two - Reduce the amount of time it takes to lock onto friendly players or have the option to lock onto a cluster of infantry.
Three - Fix the camera so that it does not get stuck infront of the vehicle after the first lock.
The logistics vehicles have god cpu/pg for the reason that vehicle repair devices are pretty pg/cpu consuming, the reason I believe they are not used as the logistics vehicles as support is the fact that it is really finicky to play. The maps in dust really do not allow a vehicle of that nature to assault maps. That is why the individual logi bro plays a bigger role on the logistic field than the logi vehicle can.
Thank You. |

always thought the LLV would do good with a passive repper that activates automatically when someone walks close enough but would need an active repper to lock onto vehicles. or make it instant lock like the remote rep tool (equipment) with no cool down but only usable on mercs so you can quickly lock onto multiple squad mates. Remote repairs should be turret-based. That's all I have to say. |

The OP is correct, we did more testing with the LAVs. |

Agreed on all the OP's points with the caveat that any AoE auto-repair modules should not stack for multiple logi vehicles so you wouldn't have invincible clumps of logijeeps with infantry dingleberries murderswarming every game mode.
Also, some sort of weapon or module - maybe a nanohive-like dome AoE device - which can disrupt repairs. Maybe give that ability to flux grenades? |

the lock time is insanely long. and should be much shorter plus a relock choice should be given. |

Just started experimenting with Logi LAVs on an alt and I agree with all points.
The lock time is long, and once the module is selected there's no way to cancel it short of using it or jumping out of the LAV, forcing the driver to try and drive with the cumbersome lock-camera. |

People have been calling for the LLAV to provide a rep bubble (as in rep a 360-¦ area around the vehicle with in a certain range) since we began using the darn things oh so many builds ago. It really is an elegant solution that would make the LLAV capable of combat repping and even, though to a lesser extent, drive by repping.

I like the idea of replacing the turret with a repair tool "turret". |
