Shotgun is impossible to aim with. I am not the only player who has experienced this issue. There are various Shotgun-vets who have also complained the aiming is terrible. It is IMPOSSIBLE to track an enemy player who is strafing or jumping around with it. Even when you do get the poorly-executed crosshairs over the enemy, there's a large chance the hit simply won't register or they'll lag out of it.
I've tried other things. I've tried to be the 'stealth and subterfuge,' guy, but that's completely made up by CCP. There is no 'stealth' involved. It's a matter of running on the side of the map to avoid getting 2-shotted by Tactical Assault Rifles. Even then, if anything sees you, you're dead.
Even Remote Explosives, a good thing to fall back on, are too glitched to be effective. I was being chased up a ladder by a heavy, threw down a Remote Explosive at the top to get him to walk in, and it just fell right through the floor. I place them at points, but they rarely detonate properly. If I even do get the kill, it's still a meager 50 WP.
Oh, and did I mention that I can only fit an SMG and Flaylock? Yep. The suit is so starved for CPU/PG that I can't even use a proper weapon, or any modules, for that matter. If I want to use explosives, JUST explosives, I'm unable to wield a light weapon without ruining any chances I have of longer survival or increasing my speed.
I guess I'm just moving on to Logistics. In most games I like playing the speedy guy with deadly CQC potential, but Scout just isn't a fun experience anymore for me. To those of you who are sticking with it, I applaud you, and good luck. |

No you should be applauded for getting out while you can. I'm just a masochist and sticking with it because maybe one day we will get a buff. Even though the only non-nerf we got was a buff to nova knives....

I don't mind the suit, but the shotgun looks really ugly, has a disgusting ADS and only does good damage upfront. |

Yea, they butchered Scouts beyond recognition, and they were already fairly tough to use correctly and efficiently.
Whoever works on scout suits much oversee dropships as well  |

Well honestly, I've been using scout suits and shotguns ever since I tried the combo with my Dragonfly and HK4M shotguns. I've been doing that through the good and bad, and right now I am still doing fairly well and placing myself on the top of the scoreboards. I don't care if people say scouts are gimped, aiming is horrible, shotguns are useless and remote explosives are glitched, I use them anyway. Call me a masochist or anything you want, I will still use them, not to protest to CCP, but out of one simple reason:

I used the shotty in chromosome and haven't given up on it in uprising and don't plan to..
Yes, there are issues but like was said, I enjoy it still and it's what I like to do, I still have great games, just as good of games that I had in chromosome.

Plasma Cannon & nova knives or smg. You're right that shotguns are terrible now, but scouts are perfectly viable. |

Just came from a terrible game. My shotty wasn't even regestering! 2 ft from a goon, and still missed! my shotty was pretty much touching him! After several more shot's not hitting, I had no choice but to switch to my MILITIA smg. I could hear the truebloods and goons laughing as I spread pellets at them. Lucky PFB was in my team. I just couldn't do anything in that game.
4 shots at point blank with militia shotgun at 3 people and missed! it ain't like they was dodging, I was behind them. Damn, sometimes it ain't easy.
But some games the shotty works awesome. two games ago, it shined against some synergy blokes. |

I have no trouble getting kills, and more importantly I LOSE less suits now than I ever did as a logi. Would I be better with a 'real' weapon? I dunno. Real suit? I dunno.
What I DO know is that I can sprint from any objective to any other without stopping to catch my breath. I can sneak around like a mouse and I kill more protoheavies than I EVER could with a gun.
Novas + Flux + Flaylock = flawless victory. = )
And I don't even need hives, I can run back to the depot any time I need ammo.
No, it's not perfect, and more PG/CPU is needed (I'm running advanced gear and still have a slot open). Another equip slot would be nice. It certainly WORKS though... just ditch the shotty. Even when it works there are better ways to CQC. |
