I know it's only cosmetic, but I'd love to see the proto dropsuits named like the weapons. As they are, they all just sound like advanced gear. Here are a few suggestions:
Gallente: Duvolle Assault Ishukone Scout Creodron Logistics
Minmatar: Six Kin Logistics Boundless Assault
Amarr: Viziam Logistics Carthum Assault
and my personal favourite - Imperial Sentinel.
Most of these are educated guesses as to the race/name relations.
Any other suggestions? |

Sorry, had to point that out. Anyway, I wouldn't mind if they made dropsuit proto names by manufacturer. But I'd like to see some Roden Shipyards, pirate variants, etc. as well. Just because Duvolle Laboratories makes awesome gold colored ships and the best blasters doesn't mean they gotta make everything. |

I'm glad you did, I only picked that because of the sniper rifle. Is it actually Caldari?
Having heard about pirate & Jovian gear in EVE, I'd love to see some of that stuff, but I expect CCP to save that for the future. |

A prominent one, too. Here's a list of the most well developed manufacturers (it also gives you an idea of what they should respectively be making in DUST). It also helps give you some background on the racial flavors each race possesses, as the manufacturer's usually build upon strengths that the race has already.
Gallente: Duvolle Labs manufactures sturdy ships with a good mix of offensive and defensive capabilities. Since the company is one of New Eden's foremost manufacturers of particle blasters, its ships tend to favor turrets and thus have somewhat higher power output than normal.
As the largest drone developer and manufacturer in space, CreoDron has a vested interest in drone carriers. While sacrificing relatively little in the way of defensive capability, CreoDron ships can chew their way through surprisingly strong opponents - provided, of course, that the pilot uses top-of-the-line CreoDron drones.
Unlike most Gallente ship manufacturers, Roden Shipyards tend to favor missiles over drones and their ships generally possess stronger armor. Their electronics capacity, however, tends to be weaker than ships from their competitors.
Caldari: Lai Dai have always favored a balanced approach to their mix of on-board systems, leading to a line-up of versatile ships but providing very little in terms of tactical specialization.
As befits one of the largest weapons manufacturers in the known world, Kaalakiota's ships are very combat focused. Favoring the traditional Caldari combat strategy, they are designed around a substantial number of weapons systems, especially missile launchers. However, they have rather weak armor and structure, relying more on shields for protection.
Most of the recent designs off their assembly line have provided for a combination that the Ishukone name is becoming known for: great long-range capabilities and shield systems unmatched anywhere else.
Minmatar: Boundless Creation's ships are based on the Brutor tribe's philosophy of warfare: simply fit as much firepower onto your ship as possible. Defense systems and electronics arrays therefore tend to take a back seat to sheer annihilative potential.
Core Complexion's ships are unusual in that they favor electronics and defense over the "lots of guns" approach traditionally favored by the Minmatar.
The Thukkers generally favor speed and offensive power over defensive capability. While many of them could be said to lack technological innovation, Thukker Mix vessels are invariably the swiftest and most agile of their kind.
Amarr: Viziam ships are quite possibly the most durable ships money can buy. Their armor is second to none and that, combined with superior shields, makes them hard nuts to crack. Of course this does mean they are rather slow and possess somewhat more limited weapons and electronics options.
Carthum Conglomerate ships are the very embodiment of the Amarrian warfare philosophy. Possessing sturdy armor and advanced weapon systems, they provide a nice mix of offense and defense.
In addition to robust electronics systems, the Khanid Kingdom's ships possess advanced armor alloys capable of withstanding a great deal of punishment. Generally eschewing the use of turrets, they tend to gear their vessels more towards close-range missile combat.
As you can see, there is lots of potential for racial mixing here. For example, rather than making all Swarm Launchers Caldari, why not make a Roden Shipyards variant, and a Khanid Kingdom variant? Lai Dai could make Blasters to "round out" the Caldari arsenal with some close range abilities, perhaps replacing Allotek as the Breach Shotgun manufacturer (better long range abilities). Duvolle should be making powerful close range weaponry (shotguns) where CreoDron should be manufacturing Gallente's longer range weapons. CreoDron ships perform well with either long or short range equipment as their drones allow them to engage from any range they choose.
That's just a start, really though. There a lot more corporations in EVE (they just don't manufacture T2 equipment) that could work their way here and there into DUST. |

Oh man, don't get me started on the potential for pirate weapons etc. I'm only just learning about EVE gear, and that stuff makes me drool. |

It would be a simple change, but it would be something I could get behind. Especially when they start releasing more types of dropsuits, like faction ones. Plus, it would help to fully integrate the lore behind EVE into DUST, which while minor, can only be a good thing. |
