Hello there, no this thread isn't to discuss AWOXing or its "legit" status in an FPS game. This is simply to show you fine DUST people the hard data on the DUST 514 corps dropping their members since this whole "issue" started.
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/corp/movements
This is a chart of how many corps have ejected members, as you can see the large majority are DUST corps and can be attributed to the recent rise of Jihadi AWOXing in the game in the past week.
To see the specific membership count drop, click on the corp you wish to look at. Here is an example using D3LTA_FORC3 (a horrible name by the way)
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/corp/D3LTA_FORC3
DotLan is a useful site for those of us who have been playing EVE as well. It provides tactical maps spiced with near realtime information about the policatal landscape, ingame activities and player groups. This system can show you how to go from one system to another, as well as how many kills have been recorded in the area in the past 24 hours (see: Burn Jita 2 charts), it also tracks the size of corporations. All this data CCP has made available for sites like these to exist, and I suggest the uneducated DUST corps that have not used services like this, EVE Fitting Tool (which should be adding a DUST Fitting program soon), and many other such third party apps to improve your long term success in the game.
But hey, I'm a Goon so you probably won't listen.

The GARPA team made it public a few days before Fanfest to celebrate 10 years of EVE and being terrible at CCP's horrible game. |

The info GTS is providing can only help the EVE pilots with their logistics and then relay that to their DUST buddies but even then that's more in EVE than DUST.
Edit - Upon further consideration, this is actually a good thing as it promotes EVE & DUST player interaction and coordination.
I suggest you get GTS and also use DotLan to work with your Space Gods to coordinate better. |

Why did you mention Kugutsumen?
NO!
Well since Alliance politics are completely foreign to most of the DUST 514 community, Kugu is a good place to introduce them to the craziness that is the New Eden political landscape. |

These tools will help you, though I can't claim they will help you long term, especially if you're EVE side support are as incompetent as these guys:

Changed thread title as this isn't about AWOXing, it was simply using it to promote the use of these tools. |

Seeing as EVE Gate is terrible and has a better iteration of its details in DotLan, its not really worth mentioning. |

While EVE Gat may list corps such as Goonfeet when DotLan doesn't, you still don't get any useful data outside of who the CEO is and what Alliance they're part of. It's not a useful system at all.
Let's take a look at Imperfects shall we?
https://gate.eveonline.com/Corporation/Imperfects
The only data you are given is what the description of the corp is and its Alliance history on top of who the CEO. That's it.
Versus
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/corp/Imperfects
Which lists far more data such as membership count, kill history, and events of the corp such as setting up a POS etc. in EVE.
EVEgate does not provide more useful information than Dotlan does, you have yet to prove this whatsoever. Your whole argument was "well some corps that haven't been picked up by DotLan's system are on EVEgate", while true, there literally is no useful info to be pulled from that corp or alliances' page. Even if you could see the list of members for a DUST corp on EVEgate, DotLan still provides that service as well as kill history not only for that player (currently only in EVE) but for the entire corp & alliance, where as EVE Gate doesn't.

Smells like an elaborate ploy to get some ps3 id's.
EDIT: Are you guys providing non-compiled source code for these goon sponsored projects?
Since quite literally the only Goon related project is the GARPA Topographical Survey, which does not require any API or account information, I literally have no clue how you came that conclusion.
The only Goon sponsored project is GTS and you do not need to submit any API to use, the rest are services the large majority of EVE Online players use without any harm being done to their accounts as that would, if I'm correct, violate the TOS & EULA the CCP Security Team are really strict on.
As for the other sites & services you would have to talk to the people who developed those products. I'm not a member of GARPA but I believe the only version we are allowing the pubbies to use is v.1.9.1, any and all versions will remain internally and won't be distributed to non-Goons. |

I have yet to prove that because it's not my argument, no matter how insistently you respond as if it is. You summarised my position in the quoted part, and I'm not mentioning EVEGate as a competitor to DotLan, simply adding to the thread that it's another available resource which fills in some gaps in DotLan's info.
EVEGate also provides employment history for DUST mercs which DotLan is not tracking.
Why do you hate EVEGate so hard that the mere mention of it sends you into a spin over why your preferred service is the best ever?
Also, bump for useful tools.
While, yes, having an "Employment History" is on EVEgate, other sites and service provide the same service and have also provided more information. EVE Who does this as well as directly linking to killboards, and EVE-Search (third party archives of all EVE-O Forum posts). At present, yes, you can use EVEgate to look at a DUST Merc's corp history, but that is also very easy to work around and unless you're jumping ships on your main (which is a whole different discussion/issue) it's not that useful at present. The corp history is only applicable if you're working with your main toon, and even then it isn't the be all end all as you can sweet talk your way into a corp as this is a game utilizing interpersonal interactions, not simple stats.
I don't think I ever said I hated EVEgate nor did I say DOTlan is the be all end all of EVE services, but nice try. Simply pointing out that it isn't as useful of a service compared to others does not equal hating it. |

Mithridates VI wrote:Sure, eventually other services will have that same info and EVE Gate will be made redundant. I'm not aware of any other services at present that have the same info as EVE Gate.
Unless your argument is that a DUST merc's employment history is not useful, in which case I disagree but you're welcome to not care, EVE Gate seems to offer unique functionality in recording this for now, so I mentioned it as an addendum to the list.
I still don't understand why you object to that because your objections seem to be based on services which WOULD do these things better if they were tracking DUST as much as they are EVE.
Right now, yes EVEgate is tracking the DUST side items but that is, most likely, due to the lack of impact DUST seems to have on EVE whatsoever. There is little need to track DUST mercenaries right now as the community is still in a very infantile state.
My objection to EVEgate is that its services are not as vital to longterm success of DUST corporations or players. I can only hope you see that argument. |
