I would like to see more heavy weapons as there are only two currently.
1. Heavy Shotgun- Fires a large mass of plasma that separates mid flight giving it maximum damage at close range but a wider area of effect at medium range. Requires charge up time and is designed to be used in choke points to deny enemy infantry access to small corridors and rooms.
2. Heavy Laser- Basically a larger version of current beam laser. Has shorter range and similar heat build up but much higher feedback when overheated and takes longer to cool down and reload.
3. Nova Axe- Battle axe version of nova knives taking charge time but with far more damage and reach, you know a heavy wielding a huge plasma covered battle axe would cause some bladders to drain.
Just suggestions, shotgun would need something to prevent it from being OHK on anything within two feet. |

Actually I was considering ideas for causing this to be primarily a medium range weapon. Did not want it to be close range unless you are shooting something as big as a tank. I would assume that requiring charge time would help as it gives the enemy time to move out of the small kill zone at close range. Overall I wanted to see it as a medium range weapon with a wide spread allowing you to hit multiple targets at once. |

Nice, but I do not think fire would be much threat to dropsuits with so much shield and armor plating. |

This is actually the idea I was going for with the heavy shotgun, maybe it could fire a mass of plasma which operates the same as a forge gun round but then separates after a few meters spreading like buck shot to give it that suppression aspect, and it would only function differently than a forge gun at medium range. The plasma should disperse much sooner than a forge gun round as it has separated and it would allow the heavy to even suppress vehicles as they would not want to risk taking a round that is equal to a forge gun.

Sounds pretty cool, and if you are good enough you could even scare that red zone sniper tank =D. It was suggested before that heavies should get some kind of missile launcher that requires you to stop and deploy to shoot, and they also added different ideas for remote control (direct control through a camera on missile or simply point a laser and missile tries to hit lazed target). I like the mortar idea and the different ideas for remote controlled heavy missiles. Only issue is that red zone railgun tanks will be replaced with red zone long range heavies dishing out large damage over large area. |

I do not run heavy most of the time and when I do I normally use forge gun to destroy installations or vehicles, but I have not noticed the HMG having much issue other than the laughable range. Maybe they could increase its pathetic range a bit and just increase its spread at range? I have seen that it works best at close range though, which should be fixed.
Edit: I am saying that at medium range the bullets seem to be like skittles suddenly and do next to nothing, yet at short range it eats anything. |
