Whats the big deal?
We have alliances for that reason, we have friends too.
Saying that "they won cause they used ringers those chicken scrubs blah blah", yes they can field a better team, with help form some friends and beat your team, deal with it.
On a related note: I'll gladly play just about any corp battle I can play, I won't even charge you for it, PSN: KingBabar, send me a msg if your corp need a quality ringer for any fight not against any in the Cronos alliance. |

I dont mind ringers, as long as the corp who brought them in dont **** talk afterwards.
It stops the match from being completely one sided and quickly becoming a redline situation (Depending on who you have), it can also help small corps compete against the bigger, tougher corps.
So, its all in good fun. |

It sort of waters down the game. Especially when people that is not in your alliance can play. Sometimes, you'll see 4 or 5 different corps in one battle.
It is what it is at this point.....but it is watered down. |

I think the problem is that Corps can literally only rely on the same 16 players to win their games. Against Zion despite how big their corp was I literally only seen the same 16 players, 2 of which belonged to SVer Trueblood. It felt less like a war for a planet and more like an arranged game. CCP should limit how many PC battles every 24 hours a character can enter before he is "fatigued" or something. Ths way corps will either HAVE to let their other members have a go or hire outside help. Also people will have to think which characters they want in the battle and when ect. |

It's now diplomacy, politics, resource warfare + squad tactics and gungame to be able to compete folks.
And PC as it stands is just the bare-bones simplest version of what's coming. |

That makes no sense. PC is a battle over resources. If you want the resources, you should put the best team possible in for your corp, regardless of corporation affiliation. If someone wants to just ring all day, that's definitely fine. They're playing the game. Limiting that would make ringers nonexistant. |

The number of planets to conquer is going to increase. The logistical effort will overcome the quality of A & B teams as the dominant factor in future battles. |

A smart CEO as he gains experience will learn there are gonna be fights he may not be able to win alone for various reasons.
Maybe he is short a good tank or AV guy or is missing his normal A team heavy.
He could be running up against a Difficult corp who has beaten him before, and the cost of the mercenaries is far less then the cost of losing the district, the clones or the fight for the district.
He may have to fight a battle on a low player count corp timer so he is missing some of his best dudes for the fight NA corps have this problem with Southern legion attacks.
You may want someone who as experience fighting that corp or alliance as that person will have a intimate knowledge of that enemy corps fav tactics and fighting styles.
You may have found your own AV/Tank team could not best the enemies so you might want to pull in a dif one that fairs better in the battle.
They could be using Tactics that have a advantage versus your A teams current composition.
Plenty of reasons to hire a skilled mercenary how has fought many battles and can give you the edge you need when you need it at a fair price.
It is a cost benefit analysis any good corp leader should be doing with his Directors before and after fights. You need to plan and you need to analyze the fight. Do you want to hire a few individual NF or the entire corp? Depends who your fighting and how many guys you have on or if you feel you can win it alone or with a little help or allot.
The problem most corps are facing is everyone is trying to be the BIGGEST guy in the room, that is not how life works, a couple of good friends can make all the difference.

It's pretty much one of the ways the metagame works. If you have a problem with it, find a way to beat them or find friends who will help "ring" that are better than the opponents. Learning to work with others and pool your resources for a common cause is a staple to long term survival in New Eden.
Look at the Coalitions and so forth, they are thousands of organized players who work with one another towards the common goals their alliances have agreed to work towards. |

I'm expressing my opinion about ringing.....At the same time I am not saying that we won't ring or use ringers, if needed. Since others are doing it to beef their teams up, you have no choice but to do it as well.
If I had to choose whether to allow for ringers or not, I would vote to prohibit ringers in a match. Because the same fun can be had without ringers. These are 16v16 battles and not open world battles with large scale war fighting and wars happening. But this is what CCP wants, so it is what it is. Maybe if only alliance members were allowed to join (just like only alliance members are allowed to call OBs), it wouldn't be soo bad. But anyone can join a battle.... |

Has no one remarked upon the reason of having ringers is soley because corps want players with huge reputation for being natural born killers on the battlefield.
We had a battle with Nyain san and a squad of Imps showed up, comprising of Doug Ugly, Bear, Zitro and a few others i can't remember.
We don't interpret this as a form of weakness, it just shows that Nyain San really wanted to keep their district, and it's a simple clever tactic. Also ringers happen more often in Alliances due to mainly out of game issues like time zone or the members that are online are not responding due to RL issues. And yes, honestly sometimes it's just down to wanting to bring a dream team to go in a rampage the battlefield. |

Obviously your not too clued up on the whole 'Alliance' thing. Maybe due to not having friends IRL.
By 'nother corp fight your battles' you mean we had ZION ringers then for sure, if its a tough battle i'd rather have the entitre STB A team with a few top boys from ZION. Seems almost sensible.
Im sure if the imperfect could field a full time prime time UK, you would be full of Nyan Sun ringers.
What makes the world go around... maybe one day you might just grasp that concept. |
