I was wondering if Heavies could get a low slot module that allows them to have their ammo on a belt feed and removing the clip completely, thus increasing the chance for proto HMG users to overheat more often being that they don't have a limit on their ammo capacity.
Maybe make a deploy function to allow a belt feed? |

interesting idea but a potential gamebreaker at proto level. We can already kill 4-5 people per drum if we're paying attention. |

I like ideas like this, too but I'd also like to point out that there already are skills in the game to increase your ammo carrying-capacity. Like Kleanur Guy says, too CCP said they want to add Tech 3 (custom) weapons to the game sooner than later, so maybe extended drums/magazines could be a feature there. All that said, I think ammunition depletion is a really cool mechanic in this game. It's done better than a lot of other games, and anything which would totally circumvent that part of the game would be a step backwards IMO. |

as... interesting at that actually is, there would have to be a severe drawback. like a massive boost to head produced, and seize duration on overheat. no relloads means you need to balance it some how |

How about as a balance, no sidearm allowable and maybe a slower cooldown with a slightly faster heat build up? |

Have it take up the sidearm slot.....and make it increase heat buildup over time fired.....like if I lay on the trigger it doesn't build up heat too fast.....after 250 rounds it increase the speed at which heat builds.....after 500 it doubles again.......the only way to have it go back to normal heat buildup is to let it completely cool down |
