Should an assault rifle really have this much stability?
Under continuous fire you have to unload almost half the clip before you end up with any noticeable sway and you can ENTIRELY negate the sway buildup by tapping rather than holding with no significant loss in rate of fire. |

I use an AR and I agree. There needs to be a different system for recoil. That said you can't have recoil like other games because players die so much more slowly. There's a happy medium somewhere, but I can't say for sure where it is. |

Try shooting then scoping in while still firing, kicks around like a mofo.
AR does have some subtle kicks, slight gun rise on continuous fire. Its just not that noticeable because people dont pay attention unless its so blatant like sniper sway. |

I don't know about these slow deaths. AR's rip through my 500 shield, 600 armor heavy like butter while my HMG can barely get through highly shielded assaults and Logis. I am waiting on the day this happy medium is applied in Dust. Until then, I'll just stick with the Duvolle andTAC AR like everyone else. |

On topic, it does feel kind of odd that kick seems to increase when you look down the sights, but I don't use the AR enough to white a thesis on it. |

I wasn't even complaining about it's lack of range either Just pointing out that kick doesn't really matter unless you're shooting at a range. |

Going on the very quick hypothesis of the related physics that I just threw together in my head, I think it might be something that's entirely possible to rationalize.
Comparing them to AR's in real life or other games is pretty pointless. Dust being a tracking shooter requires (or can at least avail itself to) different methods of balancing than a twitch shooter. And a blaster is so far removed from a present day AR in mechanics, ordnance, and propulsion method of the ordnance that there's no reason to expect the handling of the two to be very similar. |

No dumbass...
Not "short bursts of fire", instead of holding the button down you simply tap it as fast as you can. Because you're not sending the game a "i'm continuously firing" message it seems to totally ignore adding recoil and you can empty an entire clip just as fast as you would holding the button down but with the recoil of if you'd just fired your first shot.
Don't get full of yourself because you believe you know everything about the game... and just STFU.
